This year marked the 13th edition of the Jennifer Collins Classic, and once again, you all reminded us just how special this community truly is.
From the moment the weekend kicked off, the energy could be felt everywhere. The rink, community centre, restaurants, and town were filled with heart, pride, and generosity.
What unfolded over the course of the weekend was about so much more than hockey. It was another beautiful reflection of what can happen when a community comes together for something bigger than itself.
As we take a moment to reflect, the Committee wants to extend our deepest thanks to everyone who helped make this year’s hockey tournament, dance, and Battle of the BURGer such an incredible success. Because of your support, after our upcoming golf tournament, we’re on track to surpass an amazing $650K raised since 2013.
To the players, coaches, referees, rink staff, and timekeepers: thank you for bringing such passion, sportsmanship, and excitement to the ice.
To our volunteers, so many thank you’s for giving your time, energy, and care in so many ways throughout the weekend.
To our sponsors, local businesses, and donors, thank you for your generosity and your belief in what this event stands for.
And to every fan, every supporter, every person who attended, donated, cheered, shared, and showed up—thank you for believing in this cause and this community.
The JC Classic continues to grow because of this community. Because of your kindness. Because of your willingness to come together year after year and support local people when they need it most.
Lunenburg, this weekend was a powerful reminder of who we are: proud, compassionate, generous, and strong. You showed up in every sense of the word, and the impact of that support will be felt far beyond this weekend.
If you or someone you know is in need of support, our application remains open year-round: jennifercollinsclassic.com/apply-for-support
