Networking is so important- keeps issues relevant!

Recently SSHPCS Board members travelled to Coldbrook and Kentville to meet with Valley Hospice Foundation Board members and volunteers to tour the Valley Hospice and share programming ideas.

Thank you to Gerry Morey, Valley Hospice Foundation Chair, for welcoming us; Terri Milton (volunteer librarian) who showed us the Grief Library; and Holly Gamble for the tour of Valley Hospice.

Sadly reflecting on the passing of the late Nancy McDonald, our dedicated and capable Auxiliary Secretary of numerous years and Auxiliary member since 2013, following a harrowing year of illness. Nancy passed away peacefully at her home in LaHave at the age of 74, following a difficult year of health challenges. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Garnet MacDonald; her b...

Exciting new developments, providing South Shore residents with advanced medical care right here in our area by Regional Hospital professionals such as Emergency Doctor Gregory McNally -

“It’s going to serve this community well. And that’s what matters most.”

When Dr. Gregory McNally arrived on the South Shore in 1991, he intended to stay for one year. More than three decades later, he continues to care for patients in the emergency department and is looking forward to moving into a new, purpose-built space.

As part of the broader redevelopment at South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater, the new emergency department will offer a larger, more functional space designed to improve both patient experience and care delivery. Alongside new and expanded services like dialysis, endoscopy, day surgery and the South Shore’s first MRI, these changes are helping strengthen access to care close to home.
