Last Saturday, I joined fellow members of the Lunenburg Waterfront Association Inc. for the organization’s annual symposium. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the LWA successfully lobbying the Province of Nova Scotia to purchase keys assets, including wharves and warehouses along this historic harbourfront.
A lot has been accomplished in 20 years. But a lot has also changed in that time, raising questions about future challenges and opportunities.
Which is why I’m pleased to have secured funding from Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage for the LWA to undertake the creation of a new strategic plan for the waterfront.
This plan will be built in Lunenburg, for Lunenburg — and Nova Scotia by extension — and I’m really excited to see what ideas come forward and hope that everyone will take the opportunity to participate.
