📌Camp Kana’da, Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia

Camp is not just for youth.

Come join your fellow Guiders to network, craft, and learn!

Sometimes it is the little things that help Guiders feel supported - so they can then support their youth.

This camp offers a variety of sessions that may give you those extra skills you have been looking for.

Sessions include:

How to be a Quarter Master, Tips and Tricks for a great meeting, Loving the Program Platform, Crafts, Relaxing Sound bath and more...

We advised that invoices for the Fall 2025/26 Chocolatey Mint Cookie campaign would be issued on November 5. Unfortunately, we will not be issuing them as originally planned but will do so instead on November 7.

This delay was due to our effort to ensure that we have the most accurate information to generate these invoices. The data "clean up" is taking more time than we anticipated.

We understand the effort and time required to investigate and correct errors on invoices and so by having the most accurate and up-to-date information available, we will minimize any errors.

Payment will be withdrawn on November 28 as originally planned.

We apologize for this delay but are confident that by doing so we will ultimately benefit by avoiding unnecessary efforts on everyone's' part.

📣 Tip Tuesday! 💙

Hey Nova Scotia Guiders!

Have non-member volunteers helping out at unit meetings, day camps, or overnight events?

Here’s your quick checklist:
•Submit an Online Volunteer Application
•Make sure they show up on your Member Roster
•Confirm they’ve agreed to the Code of Conduct
•Ensure they’ve completed a GGC-approved Police Records Check

💤 Overnight:
Any adult staying at an overnight activity must be registered with a valid Police Record Check (PRC) in iMIS. Even if it is their first time supporting a GGC activity!
The only exception to this is for big/little sleepovers, which has their own criteria to meet to waive the PRC component, and that can be found in Safe Guide!

🩹Planning to use them as a First Aider?
Email [email protected] to have their qualifications added to iMIS.

Don’t forget to review:
•The Safe Guide Supervision section
•Appendix E – “Men in Guiding” requirements (if applicable)

Keeping our girls safe starts with making sure everyone who supports them is properly screened and set up. 💪

We’ve received several questions recently about using social media to support cookie selling. Girl Guides of Canada recognizes that social media can be a powerful tool for promoting cookie sales, but it’s important to use it responsibly and safely—especially in light of recent online scams.

Please take a moment to review the following guidelines:

Youth Age Restrictions

•Youth under 13 years old should not use social media platforms themselves.
•A parent or guardian must post on their behalf if they’re underage.

Privacy Settings & Audience

•Posts should be private—visible only to friends or connections.
•Avoid posting on public-facing platforms like:
-Buy/Sell/Trade groups
-Facebook Marketplace
-Kijiji

Protect Personal Information

•Do not include personal contact details such as:
-Full name
-Address
-Phone number

These steps help ensure a safe and respectful online environment for cookie selling while still allowing families to use social media effectively. For more information, please check out the social media guidelines available on Member Zone.
