An opportunity for local youth to gain experience in the farming field ! A new flower garden project in Venosta is underway and we are looking for youth to help build the rows. Work is paid. Must arrive with sturdy boots, hat, sunscreen, water, snacks ! Possibility of transportation support.

This is an independent garden project operating on private land by a friend of the Station.

We had a fantastic first “intergenerational” hide tanning workshop with youth, parents and grandparents at the station last Saturday!

We skinned a roadkill fox, harvested the brain!! Yes indeed:) and used it to tan a coyote pelt and much more !

We had a great time visiting Ferme Laronde!

We learned about building garden boxes, pruning and maintaining raspberry bushes, and putting up electrical fences. We even got to visit the chicks, the lambs, and got to have some delicious homemade haskap ice cream.

Big thank you to Carole and Donald for hosting us on their beautiful farm. And thanks to the students and teachers for working so hard.
