Little New York Daze

Little New York Daze Longview is nestled in the lush green rolling Foothills with the majestic Rocky Mountains standing guard to our near west.

Long before the area was ever settled it had been a popular and bountiful gathering spot for our First Nations. In more recent history, the area has been devoted to both Ranching and Oil. During the height of the boom Longview became known as Little New York along with several other communities that were known as Little Chicago and Little Philadelphia. After the huge oil boom in the early 20th ce

ntury subsided, many families had to leave the area in search of work. The Little New York Daze celebration came into being when many families would return to Longview for a reunion or homecoming of sorts. The Festival has persisted and grown over the years into a wonderful fun packed weekend, much anticipated by the residents and visitors. LYND kicks off Friday evening July, 22nd with the ever popular Ball Tournament which continues throughout the weekend. Saturday July 23rd starts early with a tasty Pancake Breakfast over at the Fire Hall for a very reasonable cost. The Parade starts at 10 AM so make sure you get your seat early.

LITTLE NEW YORK DAZE
NEW PARADE ROUTE

The Parade will NOT be travelling on the highway.

The Parade will start at the corner of Twin Cities Drive and Foothills Drive, travel through the village, and finish back at the Pumpjack corner of Highwood Drive and Foothills Drive.

We look forward to seeing on Saturday!
