Heyyy here’s what your recent contributions have helped with: $50 toward a used A/C unit during the heatwave;
a one night motel stay for a senior during the bad wild fire smoke (a stay was also offered to another senior, who declined cause he couldn’t bring all his stuff inside);
six cartons;
fresh fruit every week;
a dinner plate;
Cat treats;
Face cloths;
Oven mitts;
And some sweet gel pens

As always, big thanks to our generous supporters! It’s a beautiful reminder that there is still so much good out there. Keep keeping on! 🤘🏼💛💜🤎🧡💙🤍❤️🩵🩶🩷💚🖤🤘🏼

Kitten for adoption 🐈‍⬛😽
LB is just about 9 months old, she was spayed 2 weeks ago, and is looking for her forever home. If you’re keen and known to us here at FCMA, please reach out!

LB has been living in a foster home with two dog friends for the last 6 months, after our friend T took her in in an wmergicu eviction situation. Forever grateful for your help and care T 💛

LB has no health concerns, and has her own preventative flea control meds, with her Forest dose received at her spay appointment.

The pics of lil LB are posted from current - bb days; she’s the bean on the right in the last image, from the day she left her momma.

Sometimes angels appear just when you need them. As our funds were ending for weekly fresh fruit, we got an unprompted e-transfer to keep us in produce for a few more months. And just as one service agency ran out of dog kibble, we got a surprise donation of a 40-lb bag. 🥹🪽

We’re so thankful for those, and some of these other donations in the last few weeks that have gone out into community via Forest City Food Not Bombs, 519 Pursuit and Wiigwaaminaan.

If you have a stash of doob tubes, we’re happy to take those so we can re-distribute ci******es without them breaking.

🩷🧡💛🩵💚💜

It’s been a time. Fighting for city budgets, weathering the weather, soaring gas & food prices, and community members passing. Thanks for being here, the support means a lot 💛

In the past several weeks, you’ve helped us provide a load of ci******es, some pre-rolls, a gas card, bus tickets, cat food & treats, healthcare items, fresh fruit, and $15 in cash for some gasoline & a snack. So many thanks from the unhoused homies across this city 💛

A few receipts.
With the help of three donors, we were able to buy fresh fruit for one of our unhoused neighbours, SE, from mid-November to this first week of April. 💛🍊🍌🍎💛
Things feel grim out there right now, and this kind of support is a beacon of hope in the dark. Much gratitude for every dollar sent our way and out to the streets ❤️‍🔥

Ci******es are harm reduction. Many of our unhoused homies smoke ci******es as stress relief, and sometimes in lieu of using other substances, like alcohol. Ci******es are also a helpful tool for folks on their sobriety journey.

On outreach, one of the most requested items are ci******es and an item that is never donated, so frontline workers are paying for them out-of-pocket. We’re looking for donations of cartons, or funds to purchase them. Your donations will help us provide ci******es for folks at the Centre of Hope, Wiigiwaaminaan, the Hub/London Cares, and via 519 Pursuit. Please Dm us if you’re able to help! 🩵

With the help our community, we were able to help re-home three, 14-week old kittens last week! Sadly, the girls’ caregiver was evicted. The last kitten to be adopted is being fostered by a friend (who is recently re-housed 💗) and we’d like to support them with food costs for her. Kitty has the rest of the basics for now, but toys are always welcome. 🧶

We spent about $25 in food & litter for week one. If you’re keen to contribute - even $5 helps, please DM us. For this fundraiser, we take e-transfer for Pet Valu purchases, or we can link you to our foster parent directly for digital Walmart gift cards. 😽

Our friend D is a senior waiting for their old age pension to kick in, hoping that will help them better survive month-to-month. D is living out of their car, and receives one meal per day, with nothing on the weekends - we’re trying to help by providing extra food on Friday, as well as AA batteries for their radio, coffee money, and some smokes.

Since the weekly needs are high here, our ask is to please contribute what you can financially - the funds will go towards buying batteries, and gift cards to the retailers accessible to D: Petro Canada - so D can run the car for a bit to break the cold nights - Metro grocery, and Tim Horton’s. Or indicate if you’re keen to provide cash money. Either way, receipts and/or pix provided on delivery.✌🏼

Our friend S lives outside with their dogs and is hoping to secure winter coats for them, as the weather turns. Asking for either a gently used donation or funds fo something brand new - even as little as a $5 contribution will add up! Size needs are: XXL and Large. 🐾🐾🐾 (* dogs not shown as pictured).

Not sure how you can support the unhoused people in this city? Give us your money.

We’re real people helping real people. We’re not a charity, and we don’t keep one cent donated (we’re contributors too!) Every dollar you send goes directly to the ask you’re fulfilling, so while we can’t provide tax receipts, we send you actual receipts & pictures of us passing on your gift.

We’re on the frontlines, almost every day of the year, visiting with unhoused folks, anything we can collectively help with is a literal life line. We work with volunteers who so often open their wallets to help; and it’s beautiful and unsustainable.

We’re hoping that if you don’t have time, or the ability, to volunteer, that you can support financially. Even $5 contributions add up, and shares on socials help too. Thanks for being here.
