♻️ This week's Member Highlight is Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes!

👚 The City of London and Goodwill, Ontario Great Lakes are once again partnering to bring back the successful Worn or Torn textile donation drive helping keep unwanted textiles out of landfill and giving them a second life. By diverting textiles from landfill, the initiative helps reduce environmental impact and extends the life of materials that would otherwise become waste. Every garment has a carbon footprint, making textile reuse and recycling an important step toward sustainability.

🧶 From May 14 to June 5, London residents can drop off used clothing, textiles, and fabrics at the Goodwill Donation Centre at the back of Sherwood Forest Mall. Unlike traditional donation programs, this initiative accepts items in all conditions, including lightly used, stained, damaged, or end-of-life textiles.

Peak gardening season is officially upon us, and we can’t wait to see what the residential rain garden program has in store for us this year 🌧️🌼

With eight participants, a record number of applicants, and a fully booked annual workshop, 2026 will be the program’s biggest year yet. We’ll be sharing fun facts and fresh updates in the coming months- follow along to see some incredible transformations!

What can happen when community, collaboration, and hard work come together in one day!🌿

Here are some more pictures of our recent Edible Landscape planting with Community Living London.

With the help of incredible volunteers, we transformed this space into a thriving edible landscape featured raised annual beds, perennial fruit trees & shrubs, and wellness features.

🥦 The London Food Coalition is a grassroots network of community organizations collaborating to transform how food is shared, valued, and experienced in our city. They believe in food prosperity—not just meeting needs, but creating abundance, dignity, and joy.

The fresh food it redistributes supports a wide range of local programs—from family cooking initiatives and nutrition education, to summer camps, community meals, and school-based supports for children and families. In addition to improving access to good food, the coalition also helps member organizations reduce costs, increase impact, and focus their resources where they matter most.
