Engineers Without Borders is a nonprofit organization that brings people and ideas together to tackle the most crucial causes of poverty and inequality. Our chapter uses a systems thinking approach to target and rectify local issues, injustices and inequalities in our Western community through portfolios such as Women Empowerment, Fair Trade, Political Advocacy, and many more.

Last Tuesday, Engineers Without Borders at Western held “Let’s Talk About It” 🧬📸 and EDI focused panel discussion and workshop that emphasizes the impact future engineers like ourselves have in creating by a more diverse and open space for everyone. This was a great event and thank you to our 4 panelist for taking time out of their day to speak on important topics that aren’t talked about enough !!

Huge congratulations to Luan, Izzy, and Melissa and finishing up their undergraduate and obtaining their iron rings 👷‍♀️. All three of them have shaped EWB Western into what it is today. I am SO SAD 😭 yet so happy that these individuals are moving on to bigger and better things

Luan has created and defined the “Let’s Talk About It” Panel for the last 3 years. This event has grown to our biggest event and is something that everyone collaborates on. She is a natural born leader that has changed EWB and won’t be the same without her.

Mel and Izzy both served as Co-Presidents for the last 2 years, supporting and creating the community within in our club. They reshaped the club when they were first brought in as presidents. We thank them so much for all they’ve done and they will always be here lurking in the shadows 😱

Yesterday, the Events team hosted a case competition in collaboration with Trojan Technologies. Three teams presented a challenging case on AI and engineering risk analyses, and representatives from Trojan Technologies came to judge the competition and give feedback to our students. 📕 CASE COMPETITION!!!! SIGN UP IN BIO!!! Partnering with Trojan Technologies (a GREAT place to intern at 😉) EWB is running our own case competition . Information are as follows:
- 4 people max per team
- Case released 3 days prior to the event date
- 10 minute team presentation
- Presentations will be held TUESDAY MARCH 10TH 4:30-5:30p
- Trojan Texhnologies employees will be judging, a great place to intern!!!!
