Attention Early Childhood Educators!

Join the Métis Nation of Ontario’s Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Branch on September 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET for It Starts with You: Building a Culture of DEI with Awareness and Action.

This interactive workshop is designed to help early childhood educators become stronger allies to Métis, First Nations, and Inuit children. Participants will explore the role of personal and systemic bias, deepen their self-awareness, and learn how culturally responsive and inclusive practices can foster children’s sense of identity, belonging, and well-being.

Through virtual activities and discussion, the session will also examine the responsibility of educators to build understanding, respect, and inclusive learning environments grounded in Indigenous perspectives, as reflected in the 94 Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

MISSING PERSON – Brian Doyle
Seeking the public’s assistance

LONDON, ON (August 6, 2026) – The London Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance in locating 59-year-old Brian Doyle of London.

The missing person is described as a white male, slim build, shoulder length grey hair, grey beard, and glasses. The missing person was last seen wearing a blue vest, black pants, and blue shoes. He has visible tattoos on his right bicep and forearm.

The missing person was last seen on July 30, 2026, in the area of Southdale Road East and Pond Mills Road and was reported missing on August 4, 2026.

Family and police are concerned for the missing person’s welfare.

Anyone with information in relation to the missing person’s whereabouts is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. Information can also be sent in online anonymously to London Middlesex Crime Stoppers.

A person can be reported missing at any time. You do not need to wait 24 hours before you report someone missing. If you are concerned for someone’s immediate safety, call 9-1-1. Otherwise, you can report a person as missing to the London Police Service by calling the non-emergency number 519-661-5670.

Curated by the Métis Nation of Ontario’s Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Advisors and released monthly, the collection features stories that celebrate Métis culture, language, food, and family traditions, alongside books exploring environmental stewardship, identity, emotions, and land-based learning.

An important update from the Métis Nation of Ontario.

Our communities across Northern Ontario continue to face the devastating impact of wildfires, a reality that grows more severe every year because of climate change, and one that hits too close to home for too many of our Citizens.

This week we learned that our hotel reservations in Thunder Bay for the AGA could force evacuees, already displaced from their homes, to leave the city and be separated from their families. We immediately engaged with local leadership, First Nations officials, Emergency Management Ontario, Indigenous Services Canada, and the City of Thunder Bay, and what we heard was clear: Thunder Bay's infrastructure is severely strained. Staying was not an option.

An emergency PCMNO meeting was convened. Today, by consensus, we made the decision to relocate the 2026 AGA to the Delta Hotels Toronto Airport & Conference Centre, 655 Dixon Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9W 1J3.

August 13-16, same dates, new city. Exact venue details coming soon.
