The call crosses the recovering forest canopy and lands somewhere in your chest—a clear, laughing sound that makes you smile before you are fully awake. Ten years ago, this was a dead c

attle ranch. Compacted red soil, invasive grasses, and no biology in the soil. That call is the restoration reporting itself. I have spent thirty years nurturing degraded land back to life—in Canada and now the tropical dry forest of the Yucatán Peninsula. What I have learned is that this work is teachable. The science is learnable. The practice of genuine attention to a specific place, over time, is something anyone can develop. These field notes from that practice—dispatches from the reserve, restoration lessons, and the occasional poem. Practical when the work demands it. Contemplative when the land asks for that instead. If you feel the pull of this work—the grief and the love for the living world that often arrive together—you are in the right place.

Something about making it tangible. That flutter in the heart.

I wanted a copy of all the Planet Healers Path documents to be able to show people when they visit us, both Spanish and English versions.

Now to create the ripple, may it find the right people to help heal the planet. Anyone want to join me?

Started outreach for the Path, Shambhala Buddhist community is very interested in working with me on getting it out to their global community Ecosystem Restoration Communities are also excited about the Path when I introduced it to them. Any other leads are always welcomed!

My goal is to reach critical mass for living in harmony with our planet so that it is the normal.
