Stop the Bleed training for community members has kicked off!

The students who volunteered to attend this training live near the so-called "Yellow Line", and voiced a strong demand in being empowered with life-saving skills and equipment in first aid.

One of the students shared that she has had many family members who have been injured even after the supposee ceasefire, including a teenage sister who was shot while trying to spend time at the beach. A sobering reminder of the importance of our work in all aspects; medical, training, and manufacturing life saving devices.

Three years into an active genocide and the Gaza Strip is unrecognizable. One of Glia's youngest members is proudly wearing a Turath Fashion orange shirt, From the Salish Sea to Falasteen, to honour the Indigenous children who suffered in Residential Schools and their sacred kin, the children of Palestine.

"Handala, drawn by Naji Al-Ali, is a Palestinian child who never stops facing home. Here, he is given a xwelmuxw (belongs to the land/Indigenous) sister -- their hands joined across oceans, two Peoples bound by the same fight against colonial violence and displacement. Around them, a circle: a sweetgrass braid carrying medicine and prayer, an olive branch reaching toward the land -- roots, memory, and a future still being written."

The first official Palestinian Wound Care protocol and Advanced Wound Care training is almost complete!

Students eligible for the certification showed up ready to concentrate on acing their written exam. Next up, they have to pass a practical exam to earn their certification. We are excited to work with Palestinian healthcare professions to grow the field of advanced wound care in Gaza, one of the places where these professionals with advanced wound care skills are needed the most
