nt, Real Voice aims to engage youth positively in their neighbourhoods by providing meaningful opportunities for leadership, skill building, and a platform to share their voices. Since fall 2012, over 100 enthusiastic youth ranging from grade 8 to grade 12 have formed Real Voice neighbourhood groups across London. Meeting weekly, these free groups are a place where youth express ideas, create art to share messages, and act on their visions for their neighborhood's future. As the project's final piece, all Real Voice neighbourhood groups are creating a movie with a message that speaks to the ideas, dreams and visions of London's youth. These short films will be celebrated on Saturday June 22, 2013 from 12:30pm - 4:00pm during the Real Voice Film Fest at Wolfe Performance Hall at Central Library. All of London is invited to this free event. Real Voice is about creating youth opportunities for expression, creation, and action. EXPRESSION

Who makes Real Voice happen? Funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Child and Youth Network, and London Community Foundation, Real Voice is a partnership project of the Boys and Girls Club of London and the City of London. Numerous community partners collaborate in Real Voice neighbourhood groups, including London InterCommunity Health Centre, Northwest London Resource Centre, YMAC of Western Ontario, Life Resource Centre, Sexual Assault Centre London, Thames Valley District School Board, Carling Thames Family Centre, Westmount Family Centre and OEYC. In addition, Real Voice would not be possible without the support of Jeremy Jeresky, Shauna Kechego-Nichols, New School of Colour, and Medium. Real Voice neighbourhood groups are facilitated by sixteen Agents of Change - young people between the ages of 18 to 25 working as youth community developers and creative directors of the project.
