In case you missed it in our recent newsletter, our latest café upgrade is pretty cool ❄️

Thanks to a meaningful multi-year contribution from the W.C. Wood Foundation, our downtown YOU Made It Café is receiving exciting upgrades that will strengthen operations, enhance our teaching kitchen, and create more hands-on training opportunities for youth.

Already, a new commercial oven and added storage are in place, with new flooring, and front-of-house improvements still to come. This week, however, the team is especially excited about the new 11-foot freezer and 15-foot fridge walk-in system that was installed, replacing a smaller aging fridge/freezer combo and two standalone reach-in fridges.

A special thank you to The Grove at Western Fair District for providing kitchen space during construction, helping us continue serving customers without missing a beat!

Employment Services are free for young people ages 15-30 who are not working full-time, and no appointment is needed.

At our Youth Action Centre, access to food is about more than nourishment—it’s about stability, dignity, and care. When basic needs are met, young people can put their energy toward school, employment, and building a future they’re proud of.

Thanks to our collaboration with the London Food Bank, we’re able to provide more consistent food when youth need it most. We’re grateful for this partnership and the impact it continues to make every day!

Earlier this year, The Minto Greenberg Legacy Foundation generously equipped our YOU Woodshop with a brand-new Homag Centateq N-300 Nested-based CNC Machining Centre. This advanced equipment allows youth trainees to create precise, repeatable products efficiently while gaining hands-on experience with industry-level skills.

Over the last few months, our Woodshop team has been able to increase the production of custom millwork cabinetry and kitchens, engrave custom boards with logos, and even begin the process of designing and creating new retail products with youth input.

Thanks to the Greenberg Family's generational commitment to community impact, youth are able to gain even more specialized real-world skills that will prepare them to successfully enter the workforce and build a better future 💪 🔨

Thanks so much to the students of Ivey Business School for taking the time to visit our Youth Shelter for Ivey Impact Day 2026! From sweeping to weeding, their efforts have helped transform our outdoor storage space into a place where our residents can store their bikes safely 🚲

We were proud to come together with our friends from The Home Depot Canada Foundation, associates from London’s three Home Depot stores, and MPP Rob Flack, Ontario’s Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, for a morning focused on housing, opportunity, and supporting young people in our community.

We had some great conversations about The Home Depot Canada Foundation’s work to prevent and end youth homelessness through the Orange Door Project Campaign, Team Depot volunteer projects, and other impactful initiatives. We also discussed the importance of safe, affordable housing and creating pathways for young people to develop skills and pursue rewarding careers in the skilled trades.

As the Orange Door Project charity partner for all three London stores, we are incredibly grateful to receive more than $20,000 from the Spring Campaign! This contribution reflects the generosity of the hundreds of customers, vendors, suppliers, and store associates who support the campaign, helping create brighter futures for young people.

It was also great to see several Home Depot associates from the South London store recognized for their outstanding support of the Orange Door Project Campaign. Congratulations to Cheryl, who inspired the most customer donations at checkout, and Tanya, Assistant Store Manager and a dedicated campaign champion. Their enthusiasm helps make a real difference for local youth and we’re so thankful. 🧡
