June is Indigenous History Month.

This month is a time to spotlight, celebrate, and learn from the First Nations, Inuit, and Métis histories of Turtle Island.

That being said, we're not only looking at Indigenous History. As Indigenous people, we're fostering our Present, and we're building our Future. We carry the generations who came before us as we put in the work for the generations who will follow. We've been here, we are here, and we will be here.

This month, we will highlight Indigenous histories and teachings local to the "London" region, Turtle Island-wide movements, Atlohsa's Founding Grandmothers and how Atlohsa came to be, additional programming and events, and knowledge specific to Two-Spirit identities.

We encourage you to not only reflect on the experiences, legacies, and resilience of our communities, but also to celebrate Indigenous joy in the now. Particularly during this month, let's commit to connecting with our relatives and to connecting with ourselves.

Every month is Indigenous History Month when you're on Indigenous Land. 🪶

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! 🧡

ReconciliACTION is BACK, focusing on strengthening and building radical relationalities towards collaborative, equitable, and just futures we can all see ourselves in. ReconciliACTION is a community education event series that is open to all. 🧡

June is Indigenous History Month, and in the spirit of bringing communities together, on June 9th, Atlohsa Family Services is collaborating with Pillar Non-Profit to bring newcomer, immigrant, Indigenous, and London community members together to discuss what it means to be a “Treaty Person,” deepening our understandings of Indigenous-Crown Treaties and Indigenous Wampum Agreements.

We are honoured to welcome Thunder Jack, Bear Clan, from Oneida Nation and Whitefish Bay First Nation as our guest speaker to share his knowledge and experiences. The day will also be supported by Atlohsa's Giiwitaabiwag team and emceed by Alderville First Nation member Sara Mai Chitty.

Throughout the day, join in group reflections through Conversation Cafés designed for participants to grow awareness, deepen understanding, develop relationships, and build towards solidarity. Within the context of unhonoured Treaties, we will also reflect on the nuances and complexities of celebrating Canada Day and the City of London’s Bicentennial.
