All verified outstanding help requests have now been fulfilled. We no longer have any remaining food stock to assist families, and The Lunchbox London has permanently closed. Thank you to everyone who supported our work and helped us care for families in our community.

After three years of serving the community, The Lunchbox London will be permanently closing at the end of March.

This project started with a simple goal: to help families with school-aged children who were struggling with food insecurity while rescuing food that would otherwise go to waste. Over the past three years, we’ve had the privilege of providing hundreds of food bundles to families across London. On average we provided food to at least 1 family per day.

In January we helped 38 families.
In February we helped 24 families.
And so far in March, we are already at 18 families supported.

Since starting in 2023, The Lunchbox London has consistently been there for families in our community, averaging just over one family helped per day.

This is only possible because of donated food, shared posts, kind encouragement, and people who choose to care. Thank you for being a part of this with us 😊

We are finishing up the first month of 2026 having assisted 38 families with food bundles!

We are receiving a higher than normal amount of help requests and we're going through our food stock very quickly. If you have the means to donate please let us know. We accept cash, e-transfers or we can pick up food donations.

In 2025, Urban Roots London helped power our food bundles with 207 lbs of fresh produce that went directly to families in our community!

It means more colour, more nutrition, and more choice in the bags we hand out, especially when grocery budgets are tight.

Urban Roots is doing important work in London by turning underused land into productive growing space and getting fresh, high-quality produce into the community through partnerships like this.

We are so thankful for The MYLIE Group Real Estate Team and everything they have done over the past few months to help us and other groups around the city.
