Ontario Association for Developmental Education The Ontario Association for Developmental Education was founded in 1957 by a group of teachers and principals.

The Association is comprised of teachers, educational assistants, principals, consultants, other support staff and parents. The Ontario Association for Developmental Education believes that:

· the ultimate purpose of education is to help students achieve a self-satisfying quality of life, a sense of self esteem and personal competence in their own community;

· educational and

community supports must be provided to meet the individual and unique needs of every student;

· each District School Board make a full spectrum of programs and services available to every student;

· the efforts, expertise and commitment of professionals working with each student must be valued and enhanced.
