It's been an emotional week here at Childcan. Our joy for the record-breaking Childcan Pyjama Walk program, tempered with a stark reminder of what we do it all for, as we remember not one but two of our kiddos.

Today is also the last day for Suzanne who has been our Executive Director for the last four years. We thank Suzanne for her leadership and for all the hope that she has brought to Childcan families.

This Thanksgiving, some Childcan families get to go home. 💛

When a child in treatment is well enough to leave the hospital for the holiday, it is one of the most precious gifts a family can receive. Before they go, Childcan provides a thermometer so parents can monitor for infection and know if they need to return.

We are grateful for every single supporter who makes moments like these possible. 💛

Our beloved and much-used picnic table was an unfortunate casualty of a storm last winter. Hearing of this, some wonderful people stepped up to ensure that we had a sturdy new table to sit at and a beautiful gold umbrella to provide shade. Last week we had a picnic table party to say Cheers! 💛🎗💛

"Thank you for choosing me to be a recipient of a 2026 Childcan bursary award. Receiving this bursary means so much to me as I begin this new exciting chapter of my life. Although I am not living in residence, the support from Childcan and its generous donors still helps ease some of the financial pressures that come with university life which will allow me to focus more on my education and studies, and seize the opportunities ahead. I am incredibly grateful for the kindness and support that has made this bursary possible. Thank you for believing in all young cancer survivors and helping us continue to find our way toward the future."
