🍂 Fall Safety — Looking Out for Each Other
Fall is here, and as the days get shorter and the temperatures start to drop, we want to spend the next few weeks sharing some simple safety reminders with our community.
But we wanted to start with something even more important.
Look out for each other.
Keep an eye on our kids as they walk to school, play outside and head home when it’s getting darker earlier.
Check in on an elderly parent, neighbour or friend. Make sure their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are working, their walkways are clear and they’re ready for the colder weather ahead.
And if you know someone who may be struggling or doesn’t have the support that many of us take for granted, take a minute to check on them too. Sometimes a knock on the door, a phone call or simply asking, “Do you need a hand with anything?” can mean more than we realize.
And don’t forget about our four-legged family members. 🐾 They rely on us to keep them safe too. Make sure your pets are part of your family’s emergency plan and that everyone in the house knows what to do if something goes wrong.
Over the coming days, we’ll be sharing practical fall safety tips that can help keep our homes, families and neighbourhoods safe.
Nothing complicated. Just good reminders that are worth talking about.
Because a safe community isn’t only about looking after ourselves.
It’s about looking after each other.
