South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre (SLNRC) offers programs and services to children, youth, adults, seniors, families, and immigrants within the communities of Westminster, White Oaks, Westmount, and surrounding areas. Located within the premises of South London Community Centre, the SLNRC offers programs/services for all ages including family and parental support groups, Well Baby Clinic

s, Emergency Food Services, Women’s Workshops, cooking groups, Friday Soup (supportive program for adults and seniors), parent involved play group, summer day camp, full youth centre, seniors programming, newcomer settlement services and a variety of programming!

🌿✨ What an Amazing Indigenous Culture Program Today! ✨🌿

Today, we had a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Indigenous Peoples, their rich history, cultures, traditions, and their deep connection to the land. We explored important teachings, shared knowledge, and gained a greater understanding of Indigenous perspectives and experiences.

💬 Our participants were highly engaged and asked many thoughtful questions, leading to meaningful discussions and valuable learning opportunities for everyone involved.

🎨 One of the highlights of the session was creating Dream Catchers together. Participants enjoyed expressing their creativity while learning about the cultural significance behind this beautiful traditional craft.

🤝 It was inspiring to see everyone learning, sharing, and connecting in such a welcoming and positive environment.

🌿✨ Empowering Newcomers Through Wellness and Connection ✨🌿

Today, we were delighted to host a Mindfulness & Self-Care Session designed to support the well-being of our newcomer community.

Participants enjoyed gentle yoga stretches and relaxation exercises to release tension, improve flexibility, and promote mindfulness. Together, we also created natural face masks using simple ingredients and shared meaningful conversations in a welcoming and supportive environment.

🍕✨ What a delicious day at our Kitchen Program! ✨🍕

Today, our participants became chefs and made homemade pizzas completely from scratch! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

From preparing the dough to choosing toppings, everyone worked together as a team to create amazing pizzas. We made some with creamy Alfredo sauce and others with classic red sauce – and every pizza turned out fantastic! 😍🍕

Programs like this help build confidence, develop cooking skills, encourage teamwork, and most importantly... create lots of fun memories! ❤️

A huge congratulations to everyone for their hard work and creativity today. The pizzas looked incredible and tasted even better! 🎉

The Canada Connects Matching Program is looking for compassionate volunteers to help newcomers feel welcome and connected in our community.

If you're a Canadian citizen or long-time immigrant, enjoy meeting new people, and are willing to share your knowledge and experiences, this is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

✅ Help newcomers become familiar with life in London
✅ Build new connections and friendships
✅ Support conversational English practice
✅ Contribute to a more welcoming and inclusive community

Yesterday at Fanshawe Conservation Area, we attended the Children’s Water Festival Family Night and had an amazing day filled with fun, learning, and community spirit. 🌳☀️💚

A special thank you to utrca for their invitation and support in making this wonderful event possible. ❤️

Families enjoyed tree planting, games, lakeside activities, and quality time together. The kids especially loved meeting police officers, exploring the police car, taking photos, and receiving special gifts and badges. 🚔👮‍♂️🎁

Yesterday, we had a meaningful and inspiring day in our program. 🌿✨

We explored Indigenous history, culture, and the importance of reconciliation in Canada, while also creating space for connection between Indigenous communities and newcomers. Through shared stories, conversations, and learning from one another, we built stronger understanding and respect.

One of the highlights was creating beautiful dream catchers together—an experience filled with creativity, cultural learning, and positive energy. 💫

A day of learning, connection, and community that we will carry forward. ❤️
