South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre - SLNRC South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre (SLNRC) is south London’s community HUB.

South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre (SLNRC) offers programs and services to children, youth, adults, seniors, families, and immigrants within the communities of Westminster, White Oaks, Westmount, and surrounding areas. Located within the premises of South London Community Centre, the SLNRC offers programs/services for all ages including family and parental support groups, Well Baby Clinic

s, Emergency Food Services, Women’s Workshops, cooking groups, Friday Soup (supportive program for adults and seniors), parent involved play group, summer day camp, full youth centre, seniors programming, newcomer settlement services and a variety of programming!

[Newcomer Settlement Services]

🧵✨ Sewing Program – Learn, Create & Grow! ✨🧵

This week, we were happy to welcome our new sewing group! 💕 It was a wonderful opportunity to learn new skills, build confidence, and meet new people.

Our participants learned step by step how to:
🪡 Set up and use the sewing machine
🧵 Thread the machine correctly
⚙️ Adjust the machine for different projects
👗 Practice basic sewing and repair skills

With practice and support, our new group will continue to grow and become as confident and skilled as our previous group! 🌟

Learning a new skill can open the door to new opportunities in life. Sewing is a practical skill that can help you repair your own clothes, save money, express your creativity, and even become a useful skill for future opportunities.

🌸 It’s never too late to learn something new!

🌞 SLNRC Annual Newcomer Summer Picnic at Springbank Park! 🌳

What a wonderful day we had yesterday at the SLNRC Annual Newcomer Picnic at Springbank Park! It was a beautiful opportunity for newcomer families and community members to come together, enjoy a summer potluck, take part in outdoor games and activities, meet new people, build connections, and create lasting memories. 💛

A special thank you to the London Fire Department and London Police Service - Canada for joining us and sharing important information about their services and safety procedures with our clients. Your presence and engagement were greatly appreciated! 🚒👮‍♀️

A huge thank you to Lionhearts London for their generous contributions and support in making our picnic a success. Your kindness and generosity truly made a difference! ❤️

And of course, thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who gave their time, energy, and enthusiasm to help make the day so enjoyable for everyone. We couldn’t have done it without you! 🙌

Our amazing youth volunteers spent the day bringing smiles to our seniors through a variety of fun activities, games, and meaningful moments. 💜 It was so special to see different generations come together, learn from one another, and simply enjoy each other’s company.

🍳✨ Another Amazing Day at Our Cooking Program! ✨🍳

Today was filled with fun, laughter, learning, and delicious food! 😍👩‍🍳

Our wonderful ladies had an exciting cooking session where we learned how to make crispy Spanish rolls — and they turned out absolutely delicious! 🥰🌯✨

Everyone did an amazing job working together, sharing ideas, helping each other, and learning new cooking techniques along the way. 💪❤️

The best part? We discovered new ingredients, new flavors, and new skills while stepping outside our comfort zones and trying something completely new! 🌟

Seeing everyone so happy, excited, and proud of what they created made the day even more special. 💕👩‍🍳

We had a busy week at camp! Challenge after challenge, our youth gave it their all during our Survivor vs. Olympics Week!
