Just like that, two incredible days of the TVDSB Special Olympics Track and Field Event have filled our hearts!
Today, the secondary school athletes took over Western University's Alumni Stadium and they did not disappoint. The competition was fierce, the energy was electric and the mascot race was as entertaining as ever! A special shoutout to the Medway High School Band whose incredible performance during the athletes' parade set the perfect tone for the day. What a perfect way to close out this year's event. Thank you again to our amazing volunteers, partners and sponsors, especially our main sponsor, Harry E. Foster Foundation.
It is such a privilege for Investing in Children to co-host this event alongside Thames Valley District School Board and Special Olympics Ontario.

HARK participants had an absolute BLAST today at Palasad North to celebrate the final trip of the year as the program comes to an end next week. 45 kids got to bowl, enjoy 2 slices of pizza and drinks, while they bowled with their friends and meet new people at different schools! Twenty years of co-hosting the Thames Valley District School Board Special Olympics Track and Field Event and we are still in awe!
Investing in Children is so proud to be part of this incredible event at Western University's Alumni Stadium and today reminded us exactly why. We weren't sure if the weather would hold but the sun came out and so did the smiles, the ribbons and the most amazing camaraderie. These athletes are truly inspiring. Thank you to the volunteers, partners and planning committee whose dedication made the day possible.

Families enjoyed a wonderful evening of learning and connection at our Family Literacy and Math Event last night hosted by Sir Arthur Carty Catholic School. Inspired by the stories and artwork of Eric Carle, participants engaged in activities that encouraged reading, problem-solving, and family engagement.

A special thank you to all who joined us, London Public Library, Family Centre White Oaks and to the volunteers who helped bring the event to life!

This is exactly why Investing in Children’s Kids 1st Day sponsored by exists. 💜
Every year, Heather plans the perfect day for her kids by browsing our activity list in advance and choosing a mix of new discoveries and returning favourites, all while keeping the itinerary a total surprise until the day arrives. This year, they made it to five of the more than 50 partner locations, including a drive out to Springwater and Sheri-Lynn Meadows, which Heather said was well worth the journey. In her words, they wished they had time to visit more places!
This is what Kids 1st Day is all about. With 50+ amazing partner locations offering free and low-cost activities across the region, we exist to create days that families look forward to, remember, and come back to year after year.
