Today was the final day of Young Author's Virtual Camp. We wrapped up with another fun ice breaker using emojis, shared our favourite books, did some self-reflective writing, and had an awesome visit with Paul Coccia!! Thank you so much Paul for bringing great energy to Young Author's Camp! The campers learned so many writing techniques to keep their rom-com stories full of emotions and plots that'll keep their audience on the edge of their seat!

Thank you again to all the special guest we had this week. The campers gained so many new writing and illustrating skills AND discovered new books to read all summer long. We hope to see all the campers again next year!!

Day 4 of Young Authors' Virtual Camp was a success! Today was filled with fun activities, different forms of writing, and a motivating visit from Sarah Raughley, a Canadian author of several amazing YA books. Thank you so much Sarah for showing us how to build and write a strong structure to create engaging and intriguing stories. The campers really got their creativity flowing with your writing prompts and techniques.

Tomorrow is the last day of camp and we are very excited to be meeting with our last special guest, Paul Coccia!

Today we wrapped up day 3 of Young Authors' Virtual Camp with lots of drawing and illustrating. We had a quick draw ice breaker, wrote micro stories with special rules, and had an amazing visit from Rosena Fung, a cartoonist and illustrator. Thank you Rosena for an inspiring visit and showing us a deep dive of all the work that goes into creating your awesome graphic novels. The campers also learned how they can bring their imagination to life on paper through quick illustrations. It was so much fun!

We look forward to meeting our next special guest, Sarah Raughley for day 4 of Young Authors' Virtual Camp!

Another great day at Young Authors' Virtual Camp 2026! Today we got to know each other with a fun fish pond ice breaker, got awesome reading recommendations from our very special guest Linda Ludke, and worked on making our writing come to life through the power revising! Thank you so much Linda for joining us today and sharing all sorts of reading tips and tricks. You left us with an amazing list of book recommendations that will definitely keep the campers busy all summer long!

What a great start to Young Authors' Virtual Camp 2026! We had so much fun with our ice breaker activity, a very insightful and inspiring visit from Heather Camlot, an award-winning author and many creative writing activities to spark inspiration and creativity. A special thanks to Heather Camlot for providing a fun and interactive workshop! The campers left with many new ways to draw inspiration from their own personal lives to create unique and thrilling stories.

We are also very excited for tomorrow and looking forward to meeting with our next special guest, Linda Ludke!

We are SO EXCITED to be participating.
Stop by the Investing in Children table to pick out a FREE book and to learn about all the free programs we offer including youth guitar lessons. We will even have a few guitars to try out!

WOW 28 helpers!
With an unprecedented number of people preparing the food, Investing in Children’s 53 Summer Snack Stop bins were ready for delivery in record-breaking time today! A HUGE thank you to all the volunteers, Western University and Fanshawe College placement students and staff who participated.
It was lovely to see people bring their families and kids to help out. Thank you to London Food Bank, Cargill and Lutheran Social Services of London for supporting this program. ❤️❤️❤️
