The success of Best First Day starts with our incredible community! 💙

A huge thank you to the volunteers, donors, and supporters who helped make this program possible. From donating supplies and funds, to packing, counting, organizing, and delivering backpacks, every contribution played a part in helping students start the school year ready to learn and thrive.

Not everyone who helped is pictured here, but we are grateful for each and every person who made a difference. Thank you for being part of something so impactful! 🎒✨

Best First Day has officially wrapped up!🎒 We're looking back on a successful year of packing over 4,200 backpacks to help TVDSB students and our local communities have their !

This program would not be possible without the incredible support from our partner , and the incredible generosity of our volunteers and donors. Together we have provided necessary items to over 4,200 students! 🩵

This year also marked the 20th anniversary of Best First Day, a program that began with two working moms collecting school supplies for students in need. Twenty years later, more than 50,000 backpacks have been packed and distributed, helping students across our region start the school year ready to learn.✏️📚

As the 2026/2027 school year kicks off, we're reflecting on a summer spent organizing this campaign, sorting school supplies, and packing backpacks and are feeling deeply grateful for the people who help make it possible. Every donation, volunteer shift, partnership, and act of kindness helps create a brighter start for students. 🩵
