“Hello! My name is Renée Quarterman and I’m in Philadelphia. I travelled to Cuba a few months ago and knew that anything that I could take with me would be needed there. I’m a physician, and I packed a suitcase with medical supplies from my office and from my hospital team.
The happiness I felt making that donation inspired me to want to give more often in that way - a way that involves me personally in the work and connects me directly to the recipient.
I searched for organizations that were doing engaging humanitarian work. At a conference on Cuba, I listened to Carl, our US director, talk about NJT. I realized that NJT’s way of helping is the way that I want to help: supporting others to make direct connections as they help individuals and groups around the world. I’m excited to work with you all!”

They were blown away by the quality of the items. We were all emotional in this moment.
