Last week, we asked for your help supporting our pilot Marc on his mission to help Rufus the cat in a time critical medical emergency.

Thanks to Marc’s quick action, Rufus was able to get the medical help he desperately needed, and just in time!

He made it through his procedure and is recovering, he needed a couple days of recovery with the vet but should be home very soon, if he isn’t already.

Thank you so much to all of you that continue to support us through these missions, your donations keep us in the air and we are eternally grateful! ❤️

Jimmy is safe ❤️

We’re happy to say that after a long journey, Jimmy arrived safely in Southern Ontario following a long day of flying with Captain Dave.

Jimmy’s family had to make the difficult decision to leave him behind as they relocated. We were contacted on short notice to lend a hand and get Jimmy to the Southern Ontario Sheltie Rescue ASAP. Captain Dave and his co-pilot Ehsan stepped up, flying 15 hours straight to make this rescue mission happen. During the flight, he seemed pretty heartbroken and overwhelmed — didn’t want to eat or drink — but he was a perfect passenger the whole way.
Jimmy is now safe in Southern Ontario, with access to the care he needs and a foster home while he waits for his forever family.

Thank you again to everyone who helped make this happen, thanks to your generosity any many generous donors, we raised the fuel money for this flight in a day and a half! It was truly amazing to see your support. Thank you so much, from us at Pilots4Paws and from Jimmy. ❤️

UPDATE: We have officially raised more than enough money for Jimmy’s flight, and it will be happening tomorrow! Thank you so much to everyone that has donated to help Jimmy. Any leftover money will be used for our next rescue mission. 🐶❤️

Urgent: Help Jimmy Fly to Safety! Meet Jimmy, a 6 year old sheltie who needs our help. Jimmy is currently living outside of Thunder Bay. Unfortunately his owner can no longer care for him and has made the tough decision to transfer his care to Southern Ontario Sheltie Rescue. This rescue will make sure that Jimmy has a second chance to find his forever family. A ground transport from Thunder Bay to Toronto would take several days and unfortunately time is not on our side with Jimmy as he needs to be moved before April 29. A flight would mean that an 18-20 hour ground transport would be reduced to several hours. We need to raise $500 for Jimmy’s flight to make this happen. Every single donation counts and will bring us closer to getting Jimmy into the care of his new rescue. If you aren’t able to donate, sharing this post is extremely helpful as it may reach people who can help Jimmy. Let’s get Jimmy from Thunder Bay to Toronto!

After a winter break, Pilots4Paws is back at it. ✈️🐾

This Sunday (weather permitting) we’re planning a mission from Hearst to London, Ontario to transport Mickey and Lola, two small senior dogs in need of a second chance.

After being surrendered in Hearst, Herd About Rescue secured a temporary placement with Chews and Snooze while a long-term solution was arranged. Happy’s Place Retirement Home for Dogs has stepped up to welcome them and will work to find them loving homes where they can spend their golden years!

Transporting them by road would mean over 12 hours of travel, and volunteer drivers are limited in Northern Ontario. By air, the trip will take under three hours, dramatically reducing travel time and stress for these two seniors.

This mission’s fuel has been generously covered by Herd About Rescue and Happy’s Place, helping make the flight possible.

Pilots4Paws flights are entirely volunteer-run and funded through donations. As we head into the busy spring and summer rescue season, we’re hoping to ramp up more missions like this!

If you’d like to help keep these rescue flights in the air, you can find our GoFundMe on our website (link in bio).
And if your rescue needs help with transport, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Tomorrow (Wednesday, August 13) from 5–7:30 PM, we’ll be at St. Thomas Municipal Airport (CYQS) with our friends at COPA 75 for a fundraising BBQ in support of Pilots4Paws.

I’ll be at the grill, serving up dinner while we raise funds to help fly dogs in need from Northern Ontario to the care and homes they deserve.

Huge thanks to COPA 75 for having us — there will be a ton of airplanes on the field, so flying in is encouraged!

Come for the food, enjoy the planes, and help us make a difference for pups who need a lift to a better life. See you there! 🐾✈️
