Shout out to all of our volunteers

It’s here — National Volunteer Week 2026!
This week, and all year long, we celebrate the dedicated volunteers who make organized snowmobiling in Ontario possible. Whether behind the scenes or out on the trails, your efforts create unforgettable winter experiences for riders across the province.
The OFSC is proud to join the national movement to Ignite Volunteerism and recognize those who give back to strengthen communities.

To every volunteer: thank you for making a difference. 🫶

And what a season it was! 🙌
A huge thank you to all of our landowners, we truly couldn’t do this without you!

Your support is what makes our trail system possible, and it does not go unnoticed.
We appreciate everything you do! 👏

Just a few hours ago, the last kilometer of OFSC Prescribed Snowmobile Trails was turned unavailable marking the end of the 2025-26 Ontario Snowmobile Season.
And what a season it was! 🤩🤩🤩 Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved in making winter dreams come true across Ontario.
To wrap up the season a message from OFSC CEO, Ryan Eickmeier.

⚠️ Trail Hazard Alert – D109 / Trans Canada Trail ⚠️

Please be advised that there is a serious hazard on the D109 trail at the bridge located behind the Jehovah’s Witness Hall on RR 55.

Due to spring runoff, the trail in this area has been washed out and is eroding from below, creating unsafe conditions.
Users should avoid this area completely and use extreme caution.

This section of trail is part of the Trans Canada Trail, so we want to make sure everyone is aware of the danger.

Please help spread the word to others who may be using the trail in the area.

Good morning fellow sled addicts!

The number of offers I’ve received, whether it’s boots on the ground helping rebuild camp or just general support, has honestly been overwhelming. This community is something special.

As I’ve been working through the rebranding phase, a couple of logos were already in the works, but it got me thinking… how can I get everyone involved in this?

So here’s an idea (and if it’s terrible, don’t be shy 😅):

Why not run a contest for the official Base Camp logo? The winning design would be featured on the building and all apparel.

But that’s not all…

The winner also gets to have a trail named after them leading into camp. For example: Peterson Trail, Smith Way, Johnson Lane, whatever you choose.

I think it would be a pretty cool way to make this place truly belong to all of us.

Let me know in the comments if you’re into this idea. If there’s enough interest, we’ll start putting everything together.

Prize package would includes:

Trail named after you at Base Camp
Guest package for 5 at Floods Landing, 3 nights with all accommodations and meals included
A full day of sledding with myself starting with a breakfast ride at Floods Landing, lunch ride to Base Camp, quick visit to canyons followed by dinner at a local restaurant
Signed Matt Beleskey NHL hockey stick
5 free fuel fill-ups at Base Camp

If the winner rides a CAT, we’ll skip the fuel prize..no sense, they’ll break down before they run out of gas 🤪 just kidding CAT lovers!

For those of you that have been or plan to go next year big changes are coming.

For those of you that have been or plan to go next year big changes are coming.

Hey Sledders!!

Today is our last day open and honestly, what a season it’s been.

Seeing you all here, the laughs, the rides, the memories… this place is what it is because of you. The support you’ve shown, day in and day out, has meant more than I can put into words.

Over the past couple of years, I haven’t just met great people. I’ve built real friendships and been lucky enough to be part of something special with this community. You guys are the reason this place ever felt like more than just a stop.

I’m beyond grateful for every single one of you and now, it’s time to give that back.

Base camp as you see it today won’t exist in its current form anymore but that’s because you all deserve something better. Something bigger. Something built with you in mind.

The warm-up shack is getting full upgrades to make it a place you actually want to hang out, warm up, and be part of.

This next chapter is all about you guys. And there’s a lot more coming.

Thank you for showing up, supporting, and making this what it is.

This has always been yours and it always will be ❄️
