It has been a trying and busy summer. With the labour disruption and everyone getting back to work we struggled and we're unsuccessful in securing a guest speaker. This month the meeting will be a roundtable format. Come and share your tales of success and trials over the school break.

We are sure you will have even more to share about the return to school.

It can be amazing how just having someone who has been there and understands can help to level things out, bring a different perspective, provide new ideas.

Join usTuesday August 18th, 5pm, for a family picnic. We will be meeting in shelter #2 at Memorial Park on Lindsay St South. There is of course the play area for the kiddos plus we will have some games. Since there are so many different dietary concerns we ask everyone to bring their own food. You know what your family can and cannot eat better than anyone.

Two days of mediation results in an agreement ending the 10-week-long strike.

Our next meeting is July 21st at 7pm. CLTH Management has said we are able to use the boardroom inspite of the OPSEU strike.

This month will be a roundtable discussion. Bring your stories of success or struggles, thoughts on what direction the group could take. August will be a potluck/picnic at Memorial Park, so there is that to plan as well.

Fort Henry

Daily Programming includes a guided tour of Fort Henry National Historic Site, in addition to daily marching demonstrations by the Fort Henry Guard. These can include r***e firing demonstrations, music demonstrations, and artillery demonstrations. Our talented Fort Henry Guard and Domestic Interpreters will be stationed throughout the Fort to offer interpretation experiences.

Your ticket is only for July 16th from 10 AM -4 PM

There will be vendors and food at your own cost.

Cost: $5.00/person. No refunds. Max 6 tickets per family.

This weekend, the speedway welcomes an Autism Awareness Night, in support of CNAF, the Canadian National Autism Foundation.

Due to the on going labour disruption we are forced to cancel our June 16th meeting. We do not have access to the building.

I apologize for not having made alternative arrangements for this month. I will do better for July.

May 19th, 7 pm, 205 McLaughlin Rd Lindsay.

Our Annual General Meeting is this coming Tuesday. As a result there will not be a guest speaker. The Treasurer will present on the Financial health of KLAS. There will also be a vote on proposed amendments to the By-Laws. If I can get the night off work, I will be discussing the last year, and looking for your input on the coming year. We will also need to discuss our options for the Sweet Obsession fundraiser.

We will definitely leave time for the round table discussion to address your concerns and achievements.
