On Sunday, August 23rd, 2026, for the second fun year, Peterborough area kids and their families will be setting up lemonade stands in the City and County to support Canada's only free accredited Zoo, the Riverview Park & Zoo.

Again, this year, The Kiwanis Club of Scott's Plains will supply the free lemonade crystals, cups and signage. In return, kids (known as Lemonaders) will provide their Lemonade Stand Day proceeds to support their Riverview Park and Zoo.

Join us at our Open House from 3:30 - 5:30. Don't miss the special events at the Warehouse Youth Centre starting at 4:30 including a BBQ.

Our deepest thanks to The Butterfly Boutique and Bésfiftyseven two clothing and accessory stores in Fenelon Falls who raised over $3,000 for BGC’s “The Loft” at a successful fashion show and dinner last week. What a great opportunity to introduce our youth drop-in program (located at 30 Colborne St) to a fabulous audience through guest speaker Avalon Loube. Also, last month, the Butterfly Boutique raised $500 at their Thankful Thursday, where 20% of sales for the day would go towards a local charity.

Local businesses also helped make this possible, and we wanted to thank them in tangent with this amazing group: From left to right: Natasha Booth, of the Boutique, Stephanie Churchill and Emily Forbes from BES 57, Lily McAuley-Hunter, The Loft supervisor, Lynne Carreire of Ziraldo’s Italian Restaurant, and Carol Milroy from the Board of Kawartha Works Community Cooperative. Hope to see you tomorrow! BGC Club Day is Friday, June 5th! Not only will we have a plethora of fun games all day for the children, but we will be having various public events in the afternoon the entire family can join.

There will be an Open House at our front lawn with fun activities from 3:30-5:30 p.m. We will also be having multiple events outside our Youth Centre from 3-7 p.m., including Lawn Games and a BBQ, which people of all ages can also participate in. We can't wait for the day, and hope to see you there!

Give your child the chance to strum, sing, and create at our Music Camp! It will be July 27th - 31st!

Campers will explore the world of music through activities like learning to play the ukulele, singing, and experience what it is like recording in a professional recording studio. Throughout the week, they will develop their musical skills, confidence, and creativity in a supportive and fun environment. At the end of the week, campers will showcase everything they’ve learned in a special performance for parents and families to enjoy!

Batter up! Step up to the plate at our Specialty Baseball Camp.

Campers will spend the week developing fundamental baseball skills such as hitting, throwing, catching, and base running through fun drills, skill-building activities, and friendly games. Campers will build confidence, teamwork, and game knowledge in a supportive environment, with plenty of time on the field.

Science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics; campers can explore STEAM through our hands-on, experimental based Specialty summer camp. It is from July 20th - 24th.

Throughout the week campers will gain experience coding, conducting experiments, solving problems, and working together to test their ideas. This camp encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. Whether designing, building, or experimenting, campers will discover just how fun STEAM based activities are!

Get ready to hit the court at our Summer Basketball Camp. It is in Lindsay, from July 20th - 24th.

Campers will spend the week developing key basketball skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork through fun drills, skill-building activities, and friendly games. Whether they are picking up a basketball for the first time or already love the sport, campers will build confidence and improve their game in a supportive environment.
