Autism Ontario Central East Region is bringing a new four-week Tech Lab series to the Kawartha Lakes Makerspace & Skills Hub, in partnership with Ampere.

Designed for autistic children ages 7–13 and their parents/caregivers, these hands-on workshops will give participants the chance to explore technology through creativity and play. 😀

Throughout the series, participants will:
🎵 Code their own music
🎮 Create and explore video games
🤖 Teach an AI how to play Pictionary
💻 Program a handheld computer to run interactive games

The Tech Lab takes place Mondays, Oct. 19 and 26, and Nov. 2 and 9, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Kawartha Lakes Makerspace & Skills Hub (12 Peel St., Lindsay). The program is offered at no cost. 🙌

Space is limited, and participants are asked to attend all four sessions. Parent or caregiver supervision is required throughout the program.

🟠 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🟠

Today, we stop to remember the children who were taken from their families and communities and those who never returned home. We honour Residential School Survivors, their families, and Indigenous communities who continue to carry the impacts of this history.

As a children’s mental health agency, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, heard, and connected to their family, culture, community, and identity.

Reconciliation means continuing to listen, learn, build respectful relationships, and reflect on how we can do better in the work we do with children, youth and families.

We are committed to continuing this learning and creating spaces where everyone feels respected, welcomed and supported 🧡
