Ucwalmicw Community Farm

Ucwalmicw Community Farm The Ucwalmicw Community Farm~ Indigenous food security & sovereignty project in St'at'imc territory!

In our community based garden, we respect the land and grow our produce safely; 100% Pesticide free, Herbicide free, and clean of all chemicals. Keeping the land healthy is a vital way to keep our community healthy for generations. The Ucwalmicw garden land has been farmed over generations in our community. It was our ancestors way of being self-sustainable by growing their own food, we are workin

g to bring ourselves back to this self-sustainable ideology. We welcome any one into the garden, so come stop by and say hi to our team members.

Public Statement on Ucwalmicw Garden Updates:

We acknowledge the recent post shared on our public page regarding the Ucwalmicw Community Farm. While we respect the perspectives expressed, we want to assure the community that the Ucwalmicw Garden will continue to serve and support local food security efforts, albeit with some changes in the upcoming season.

Change is never easy, and we recognize the hard work and dedication that has gone into the farm over the past several years. As we move forward, our focus remains on ensuring that the garden continues to provide value to the community while we reassess and restructure operations.

For more information about our recent changes, please contact: [email protected]

We appreciate the community’s patience and support as we navigate this transition.

Áma snáńatcw
Today is our last Elder delivery of the year, we will have squash and some dried goods to hand out to the Elders today around Noon.
It has been an honor to be able to feed the people this year, seeing all those beautiful happy faces, excited for fresh fruit and veggies.
Looking forward to seeing you all again next year!

Hey everyone! If you are seeing this consider it your invitation to come to our end of season potluck happening next Friday, Nov. 1st, @ 5:00pm 🍂✨

We will be sharing about our growing season, eating together (potluck style with meals made from our food), and watching a beautiful film about a community project that we have been so excited to see grow. Tea Creek Indigenous Farm School in Gixtsan territory has been a big inspiration for us the past few years and we thought this was a good way to get together and celebrate all the work done on Indigenous Food Sovereignty this season.

LOCATION: Upstairs of the Ucwalmicw Centre, 10 Paul street, T'it'q'et
POTLUCK STYLE: don't worry if you can't bring a dish! We will have soup, squash and pie!
ELDER'S RIDES: please message us or call the number on the poster!
