Even though the weather was a little gloomy, our Superhero Day was anything but! ☁️🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️

We had a fantastic turnout serving 140 individuals and loved seeing so many familiar faces, along with meeting new families and making new connections within our community.

Thank you to everyone who came out, participated, volunteered, and helped make the day such a success. Events like these remind us how strong, supportive, and welcoming our autism community truly is.

We can’t wait to see you all again next year! ❤️

☔🦸 SUPERHERO DAY IS STILL A GO! 🦸☔

Rain or shine, we’ll be at the Elk Picnic Shelter tomorrow from 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM for an afternoon of fun, connection, and community!

A quick weather update:
🌦️ Bouncy castles will be weather-dependent and may not be available if conditions aren’t safe.

But don’t worry, we’ll still have:

We’re excited to introduce TJ Waltho, who serves as a Treasurer with the Chinook Autism Society.

TJ is a passionate community member, musician, organizer, and parent who brings both creativity and lived experience to the Society.

As the parent of an autistic child, TJ understands firsthand the realities, challenges, and joys that many families in our community navigate every day. His connection to the autism community led him to become more involved with the Chinook Autism Society and eventually join the Board of Directors.

TJ brings a unique perspective shaped by advocacy, community building, and a deep belief in creating spaces where autistic individuals and their families feel supported, understood, and included.

Whether helping organize events, building community partnerships, or lending his voice to important conversations around autism acceptance and support, TJ continues to help strengthen the Chinook Autism Society and the families we serve.

Join us for an afternoon of fun, connection, and community at our annual Superhero Day! This year, we are focusing on creating a safe and inclusive environment for all families by keeping activities within the perimeter of the Elk Picnic Shelter area rather than hosting a large walk.

Families can enjoy:
✨ FREE lunch for attendees
✨ BBQ, games & family activities
✨ Multiple activity and sensory stations
✨ Community organization information tables
✨ Special appearances by the amazing Gamut Cosplay Collective - Superheroes
✨ Safe, inclusive fun for neurodivergent families and the whole community
