Last night, our members took to the stage and put their creativity to the test during a joke-writing workshop at our club meeting.

With a mix of courage, curiosity, and a few well-timed punchlines, a couple of our members stepped up to share jokes they had written themselves. It made for a fun and memorable evening, full of laughter and a reminder that sometimes the best way to connect is simply to not take ourselves too seriously.

Some of you may remember that our club used to host an annual amateur stand-up comedy fundraiser. It was a highlight for many years, bringing people together through laughter while supporting great causes. While it has been on pause, moments like this remind us just how much energy and talent we have within our club.

We are actively exploring ways to reinvigorate this event and hope to bring it back in the near future. Stay tuned.

Celebrating 25 years of impact 🎉

A couple of our members had the honour of attending the 25th Anniversary of the Rotary Club of Lethbridge Sunrise and what a wonderful evening it was! Filled with fellowship, fun, and delicious food, the night brought together past and present members in a meaningful way.

Eight charter Sunrise members were in attendance, including a special surprise appearance from charter president, Brian Treadwell.

We also heard about the incredible work happening through community partnerships, including:
• Bringing Hearts Home Cardiac Centre of Excellence ❤️‍🩹
• Westminster School STEM Program 🧠
• Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens 🌸

Greetings were shared from District Governor, Manon Mitchell, as well as all four local Rotary Clubs, and the University of Lethbridge Rotaract Club received a cheque in recognition of their support with the recent PBR 50/50 fundraiser.

An engaging and enjoyable evening and a reminder of the power of connection, collaboration, and community. We look forward to many more opportunities to unite for good alongside our fellow Rotary clubs! 💙⚙️ un I’m

Congratulations to Ryan Turner on being elected President Elect for 2026–2027 with the Rotary Club of Lethbridge Mosaic!

In just one short year since joining the club, Ryan has already made a meaningful impact—bringing energy, insight, and a strong commitment to service that reflects the very best of Rotary.

Ryan has spent much of his career in the news industry, particularly in newspapers, and currently serves as the General Manager of the Lethbridge Herald. His experience in media, leadership, and community connection brings a valuable perspective to the club.

Ryan is ready to step into this leadership role and contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the club—and we’re excited to see where his leadership will take us!

Please join us in congratulating Ryan on this well-deserved role 👏

We were excited to welcome Kim Gallucci, CEO of Excite Lethbridge, as our recent guest speaker! Accompanying him was also Sydney Koppe and Paul Kingsmith.

Kim shared the rich history of the Lethbridge & District Exhibition, which has been serving our community since 1897. It was interesting to learn how this long standing organization has evolved to meet the changing needs of Lethbridge and Southern Alberta.

We also heard about the journey behind the impressive 268,000 square foot Lethbridge & District Exhibition Trade and Convention Centre, a project that was over 20 years in the making and officially opened in August 2023.

This incredible facility is creating new opportunities for:
• Conventions
• Trade shows
• Meetings
• Community events
• Expanding into sports events
• Future entertainment opportunities

Kim spoke candidly about the financial challenges that impacted the organization and the thoughtful path forward.

The former Lethbridge & District Exhibition was restructured into two separate entities:
• Excite Lethbridge, which not only hosts renowned events, but also operates and maintains the land and buildings as a nonprofit
• Lethbridge & District Agricultural Society, which continues its important agricultural mandate

Momentum is building and there has been meaningful financial improvement.

Excite’s new 20 year plan focuses on:
• Increasing quality of life in our community
• Creating tourism opportunities
• Generating economic impact that benefits Lethbridge

We are grateful for leaders who are committed to building a vibrant future for our city.

What types of events would you love to see hosted in the new Trade and Convention Centre? Let us know in the comments and we can pass along your suggestions 💬
