This week, participants in our RISE program were tasked with opening a mock store in a classroom setting, to build customer service skills that can be transferred to job placements. They crushed it!

RISE participants spend the first part of the program learning Alberta Employment Laws and Standards, food safety, First Aid, how to be a valuable employee, making a good first impression, understanding workplace culture, problem solving and how to manage workplace conflict. We're thankful for the businesses who offer work experience opportunities once their classroom instruction is complete!

When we visited the shiny new Skip the Scale sign at National Salvage we bumped into Sandy dropping off some scrap metal in support of the Angel Tree Christmas Campaign! You can be like Sandy and drop off any scrap metal you have lying around in the bin at 206 33 Street North in Lethbridge! All proceeds during October go to Angel Tree. šŸ˜‡
