🥞🇨🇦 Community Service in Action! 🇨🇦🥞

Cadets from 34 Chinook RCSCC, 2296 RCACC, and 11 RCACS were proud to support the No. 4 General Stewart Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion at its annual pancake breakfast fundraiser.
This year’s event was especially meaningful as the Royal Canadian Legion celebrates its 100th Anniversary, marking a century of service and support to veterans, their families, and communities across Canada.
Cadets also had the opportunity to meet several local dignitaries, including:
🔹 Blaine Hyggen, Mayor of the City of Lethbridge

🔹 Shahin Mehdizadeh, Chief of the Lethbridge Police Service

🔹 Dory Rossiter, Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel, 20th Independent Field Battery Royal Canadian Artillery

Dignitaries, community members, parents cadets and staff gathered for 11 RCACS 85th Annual Ceremonial Review.

This parade marked a historic milestone in our squadrons history, as our 85th Anniversary - this ACR marks the first special event scheduled for our 85th Anniversary stay tuned for more.

We were thrilled to welcome Colonel (R) Wayne King as this year’s Reviewing Officer. Our other special guests included:
LCdr Newton OC Southern Alberta Area - RCSU NW and Commanding Officer of 335 RCSCC CALGARY
Major Montminy CO of our host unit - 20th Independent Field Battery
Lt(N) Michalak CO of 34 Chinook RCSCC
Several members of local RCMP Detachment and LPS

Cadets of 11 RCACS presented very well. This year was the first year in over 20 years we were able to have 3 full flights + flag party on parade.

As part of our 85th Annual Ceremonial Review, we proudly recognized the hard work, dedication, and leadership of our cadets through promotions.

Each new rank represents countless hours of training, perseverance, and commitment to our squadron and the Royal Canadian Air Cadet Program. These promotions are well-earned and reflect the outstanding example each cadet has set throughout the training year.

One of the highlights of our 85th Annual Ceremonial Review was the presentation of our squadron awards.

These awards recognize cadets who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and achievement throughout the training year. Through their efforts both within the squadron and in the community, these cadets have shown the dedication, perseverance, and excellence. Each recipient has made a meaningful contribution to the success of 11 RCACS that represent the values of the Royal Canadian Air Cadet Program.

We are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of this year’s award recipients and thank them for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to our squadron.

Cadets from 11 Lethbridge Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron participated an Orienteering focused LDA this past weekend on Saturday May 23rd.

Orienteering is a navigation sport where participants use a highly detailed map and a compass to find a series of checkpoints, called controls, in unfamiliar terrain. Competitors choose their own route and race against the clock to complete the course in the fastest time.

The day was full of fun! Friends! and Experiences you can’t get anywhere else!

On Sunday May 3rd 2026 11 RCACS held a marksmanship day for its first year cadets focusing on safety on the range, marksmanship principles and getting some practice in.

This gave our cadet marksmanship team a chance to hone their skills at leading cadets by instructing in the morning and assisting the RSOs in the afternoon with peer coaching.

On April 18th 11 RCACS held a single day Field Training Exercise focusing on fundamental skills required for aircrew survival.

Cadets learned:
- starting a fire using flint + steel
- Radio protocol and communication
- basic shelter construction (Hootchies!)
- Knots and Lashings
- Bell Tent Construction.
