On Sunday May 3rd 2026 11 RCACS held a marksmanship day for its first year cadets focusing on safety on the range, marksmanship principles and getting some practice in.

This gave our cadet marksmanship team a chance to hone their skills at leading cadets by instructing in the morning and assisting the RSOs in the afternoon with peer coaching.

Cadets learned:
- starting a fire using flint + steel
- Radio protocol and communication
- basic shelter construction (Hootchies!)
- Knots and Lashings
- Bell Tent Construction.

Favorite Cadet Activity: Survival and Marksmanship
Specialized Qualifications: Survival Instructor, Fitness and Sports Instructor, Cadet Correspondent, Advanced Leadership Program, Staff Cadet Flight Sergeant X2
Biggest Achievement in Cadets: Receiving promotion to Warrant Officer First Class, and King Charles III Coronation Medal.
Fun Fact: I can ride a Unicycle
Advice for Junior Cadets: Participate as much as possible, the more you put in the more you get out. Lift others up, and don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone that’s where the most growth happens.

11 RCACS had the privilege of hosting our Zone Training Officer - Capt. O’Grady on April 15th 2026 for a site visit.

Capt. O’Grady’s visit consisted of:

An inspection of all three flights; Polaris Flight, Astro Flight, and Arrow Flight which was followed by a march past.

A tour of weekly squadron training, accompanied by 2 members of our cadet command team, Chief Warrant Officer - WO1 Theron and our Training Warrant Officer - WO2 Josan.

On March 31st 2026 11 RCACS held its annual spring mess dinner at the 702 RCAF Association and hosted a very special guest Capt. Christian Stenner - J7 Youth Special projects Officer.

Members of the Mess, Mess Committee, Guests and Staff enjoyed a meal and an evening of gathering and fun.

A big thank you to our senior cadets and parents committee who organized the evening!

Our March COs Parade was a success!

11 RCACS had a special guest and was presented a donation from the No4 General Stewart for their efforts in supporting the poppy campaign this last November.

The donation was presented to the Sqn-CO Capt. Alastair Furtado, SSC Chair - Mr. Lennard Nichols, and our Cdt-CWO WO1 Theron.

On Tuesday, January 20th 2026 #11 RCACS welcomed its first Guest Reviewing Officer of the 2025-26 training year, His Worship Mayor Blaine Hyggen .

Mayor Hyggen inspected all three Flights: Arrow, Aurora, and Polaris.

Our Squadron Training Warrant Officer WOII Josan presented Mayor Hyggen with a commemorative mug with crest. engraved in honour of being our RO for January.

On behalf of the staff, parents, and cadets we would like to thank Mayor Hyggen and the city of Lethbridge for their support of #11 RCACS.
