Thaddeus Lake Music Foundation for Economically Disadvantaged Children and Youth Thaddeus loved music and lived music.

He wanted others to experience that same joy and fulfillment. He was driven to start a Foundation that would help children and youth have opportunities to experience music regardless of financial constraints. This desire was communicated to his mom 3 short weeks before his passing. Thaddeus and 2 of his friends were taken from this earth by the carelessness of a drunk driver November 26, 2011. Sin

The Leduc Black Gold Rodeo gives the Thaddeus Lake Music Foundation extra storage for the additional musical instruments we can't fit in Thad's Musical Instrument Lending Library (Thad's M.I.L.L). In turn we help them by volunteering at the annual Leduc Black Pro Gold Rodeo - this year from May 28 to 31.

A great way to support us at Thad's Foundation is to volunteer to work a shift at the rodeo in May. A variety of shifts are available throughout the weekend, most at the LRC and some at the parade on Saturday morning. Visit the link below to see the available shifts and pick one that works best for you. And don’t forget to put “Thad’s Foundation” when it asks if your volunteer as part of a group or organization.

We have a variety of instruments at Thad's Musical Instrument Lending Library (Thad's M.I.L.L). Each month we will feature a different instrument at Thad's M.I.L.L with information about the instrument, resources to learn to play the instrument, and how to borrow the instrument from Thad's M.I.L.L.

For March we're featuring our ocarina, a type of wind instrument. We have one ocarina at Thad's M.I.L.L that's available (when not loaned out) for our members.

The Thaddeus Lake Music Foundation partners with BGC Leduc to provide music lessons in piano, guitar, and drums to the kids and youth at Leduc BGC.

We’re currently looking for music teachers who can teach beginner piano or guitar at Afterschool Music Program with BGC Leduc. This program starts in February and will run for 6-7 weeks. Each music lesson would be 1.5 hours once a week.

Make a difference in the lives of children and youth by inspiring, teaching, and guiding them through beginner music skills. Help us make the world of music available to more children and youth in our community.

Hello everyone. We at the Thaddeus Lake Music Foundation hope you've enjoyed the holiday season and are having a good start to 2026.

We'd like to remind families and individuals who require funding assistance from us for February to June music lessons/programs that applications are due by the end of day on January 15, 2026. Funding is open to children/youth 7-22 whose school, band, or private teacher can attest to a financial need for funding from the Thaddeus Lake Music Foundation.

These can be saved and filled online or printed. Please follow the instruction on the first page to ensure the application is filled out correctly. Applications that are late or incomplete may not be accepted for funding.

We wanted to share the hours for Thad's M.I.L.L over the next couple of weeks. Note Thad's M.I.L.L is always closed weekends.

December 15 to 19 (Monday to Friday) we are open from 9:00am to 4:30pm.

December 22 to 26 (Monday to Friday) we are closed for the holidays.

We are open for modified hours (10:00am to 3:00pm) on Monday, December 29, Tuesday, December 30 and Friday, January 2.

We are closed on Wednesday, December 31 and Thursday, January 1.

It's been 14 years today since we lost Thad. While he will always be missed, Thad's legacy continues through our work at the Thaddeus Lake Music Foundation.

The Thaddeus Lake Music Foundation recently received a $2500 donation from the Lions Club of Leduc. This local chapter of the Lions Club helps to support various community initiatives, programs, and local nonprofits, like ours. Our Story

Thaddeus had worked for 2 summers with the Mavericks, a benevolent organization operating out of the barns at the Calgary Stampede. This motivated his servant heart to start his own organization to ensure those who could not afford lessons or instruments could still enjoy and learn music. He was taken from this earth just prior to formally setting it up.
