09/30/2026
September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
Today, we pause to honour and remember the Survivors of residential schools, their families and communities, and the children who never came home. Every child matters. 🧡
At MCC Thrift Leamington, we acknowledge the traditional ancestral and unceded territory and waters of Caldwell First Nation. These are the original peoples of Pelee Island, Point Pelee and what is now known as Southern Ontario. We further recognize and respect the First Nation Anishinaabe who are allies with the Waywaayatanong Treaty Council and Confederacy of Three Fires who share in the stewardship of these lands and waters. We are grateful to live, work and gather on these lands.
Through MCC Ontario's Indigenous Neighbours team, we invite churches and individuals to learn alongside First Peoples so we can work together toward healing and justice.
Today, we invite you to join us in listening, learning and walking the path of reconciliation with humility. Visit the link in our bio for more information.
