Fall Activities Are Back! 🍂
We’re excited to be starting back tomorrow, September 16! We have a great lineup of presentations, discussions, creative activities, exercise, lunch, and games planned for the coming weeks.
Here’s what’s coming up:
📅 September 16
10:00 a.m. – Taking Medications Safely as You Age: What You Need to Know (Videoconference)
Medications can help us in many different ways. However, as we age, our bodies can become more sensitive to the effects of medications, and some medications may even cause more harm than benefit.
Learn about safe medication use and important questions to ask your healthcare professional to help prevent medication-related harm—for yourself and those you care for.
12:30 p.m. – Lunch
1:30 p.m. – Games
📅 September 23
10:00 a.m. – Grief Discussion with Pallia-Vie (Live)
Join us for a conversation about grief and the many ways it can affect us.
There is no pressure to share. You are welcome to simply listen, learn, and connect with others who may be experiencing similar feelings.
Grief doesn’t only come with the death of someone we love. It can also come with many different types of loss and change, such as changes in relationships, roles, routines, independence, or life circumstances.
You are not alone.

10:00 a.m. – What We Read and Hear Isn’t Always Correct: How Do We Know What’s True? (Live)
How do we know if what we see or hear is accurate? How can we check the facts?
We’ll be joined by Hayley Juhl, Executive Producer at The Gazette, who will share practical ways to question what we see online, recognize warning signs, and think critically about whether information is trustworthy.
And remember the game “Telephone”? What starts as one message can sound very different by the time it reaches the last person! We’ll also look at how information can change when it is passed from person to person—and how we can make sure we’re getting the facts.

Presented by Eric Ouimet, Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
Being fooled isn’t the same as being scammed—you have the power to end a scam at any point.
This session skips the jargon and scare tactics. Instead, we’ll look at how scammers get your attention, create an emotional reaction, and isolate and manipulate people toward a transaction.
Most importantly, you’ll learn specific red flags you can recognize so you can interrupt the process before any money changes hands.

Also, please feel free to share this information with anyone you feel would enjoy and benefit from our activites.
