πŸ‚ Happy Thanksgiving from Camp Lau-Ren! πŸ‚
Even though our 2026 camp season has wrapped up and the autumn leaves are falling along the Ottawa River, our hearts are incredibly full. This Thanksgiving weekend, we are looking back on a summer packed with laughter, campfire songs like "One Tin Soldier", beach days, and lifelong friendships.
We want to say a massive THANK YOU to our incredible campers, dedicated staff, hard-working volunteers, and the entire Camp Lau-Ren family. You are what makes this community feel like home.
As you gather with loved ones this weekend, we wish you a safe and happy holiday filled with family, friends, great food (enjoy that extra slice of pie! πŸ₯§), and moments to count your blessings.
What are you most thankful for this year? Share your favourite camp memory from this summer in the comments below! πŸ‘‡

Hello folks,
With the fall season upon us now. The trees are starting to change colours. At Camp Lau-Ren we are lucky to have some many beautiful different types of trees and they are starting to change colours.
A couple of days ago, Norm, Bear and Mukluck were at the camp and turned (winterized) off the water to camp. They got to see some of these changing tree colours.

Hello friends of Camp Lau-Ren

Thunder Bay has its famous "Sleeping Giant," but did you know we have our very own version right here at Camp Lau-Ren? 🌊🌲

When you're standing on the beach and look across the Ottawa River toward the mountains on the Quebec side, you can see a perfect silhouette of a person lying down!

We are thinking calling it the β€œResting Voyageur”. (A historical nod to the voyageurs who famously traveled the Ottawa River).

Next time you're on the waterfront, take a close look at the treeline. πŸ‘‡πŸ‘€

Attached is picture of the Thunder Bay Sleeping Giant and pictures of our Resting Voyageur.

Hello Friends of Camp Lau-Ren,
Even though our Camp Season is done, there is always work to be done at Camp Lau-Ren.
Recently we had two helpers at the camp, who help split the wood, so that we have wood for the 2027 camping season. A BIG thankyou to Elliot and Asher.

And just like that, the Camp Lau-Ren 2026 season has come to an end. This summer, we once again welcomed over 500 campers to our beautiful property for a week in the most magical place on earth! We are truly grateful for each and every single camper that came to spend some time with us this summer! You all are the reason that our Camp gets to open its doors every single summer! We would also like to express our deepest gratitude for our amazing team of staff because without them Camp Lau-Ren would not be what it is. The history of Camp Lau-Ren is a long one, and this particular property has been welcoming campers for well over a century! This summer our staff team was made up of over 100 people, some paid and some volunteer, some who were brand new to camp this year, some who have been around making an impact on Camp for a few years now and some who have been part of the history of Camp for many decades. Without these people choosing to put in their time, energy and love into Camp Lau-Ren each summer we would not have the same amazing camp community here that we are so lucky to have. What a great summer it has been, and we are honoured to have shared it with you in whatever way that may have been, if you attended Camp, know someone that did, supported one of our fundraisers, or were a member of staff this year or in the past. We thank you for the love and support you have shown us this year and we can’t wait to do it all again next summer 🫢
