The Langley Rotary version of the highly successful youth achievement Sassy Awards Program.

The goal of the Sassy project is to support Langley youth in their community that they volunteer in, and give-back initiatives on an ongoing basis.

The final SASSY category we will be highlighting today is the Culture and Diversity Leadership Award! This category recognizes a youth who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in promoting cultural awareness, inclusion, and acceptance within the Langley community. Youth considered may lead initiatives, events, or learning opportunities that foster understanding and create meaningful community impact. It also honours those who serve as positive role models, inspiring their peers to embrace and champion diversity and inclusion. This years finalists: Sue Ah Kang, Amelia Boothman and Soul Jeong!

The second last category we will outline is the Arts and Culture Leadership Award! The Arts and Culture Award recognizes a young person who has made an outstanding impact on the youth arts community. This award celebrates youth who create opportunities for artistic expression and contribute to the growth of arts and culture for people of all ages. It also honours those who have achieved success in their artistic field while inspiring others to engage in the arts. This years finalists: Aarushi Harish, Haunnah Brynjolfson and Geena Sahndu!

The next SASSY Award category we will highlight is the Leadership Beyond Adversity Award! This award recognizes a youth who has overcome significant challenges and demonstrated determination in achieving their personal goals. This category celebrates youth who have emerged as leaders through their perseverance and strength. It also honours those who have used their experiences to make a positive impact in their community and inspire others. This years finalists are: Adhisri Venkat, Rohtash Mann and Zhina Hormat!

The Environmental Leadership Award recognizes a young person who demonstrates a strong commitment to environmental issues and sustainability in their community. This award celebrates youth who have created or significantly supported impactful environmental initiatives that make a difference. It also honours those who inspire and empower their peers to become leaders and active participants in environmental stewardship. This years finalists: Armeet Sangha and Jonathan Okazaki!
