A recent Globe and Mail investigation is drawing attention to serious labour concerns in Canada’s trucking sector, including wage theft, employee misclassification, weak enforcement, and gaps in a fragmented regulatory system.
The reporting, led by Sara Mojtehedzadeh and Mahima Singh, reflects months of investigation, more than 30 freedom-of-information requests, national regulatory data analysis, and interviews with drivers and industry insiders.
Trucking is essential to Canada’s economy. A fair, safe, and properly regulated industry is critical for drivers, responsible carriers, and the communities that rely on them.
