It is a pleasure to host you, thank you for the work you do to support us! Ice cream is always a much enjoyed treat at the Gateway of Hope.

Yesterday I had the honour of volunteering in the kitchen at the Salvation Army Gateway of Hope alongside some great friends. It was a small opportunity to give back to an organization that does so much for our community.

As the only permanent shelter serving both Langleys, Gateway of Hope provides vital support, meals, shelter, and hope to those facing difficult circumstances. Thank you to the staff, volunteers, and supporters who make this important work possible every day.

It’s that time of year again, we are planning for our Backpacks & School Supplies Program!

While many families are enjoying the summer months, others are facing the stress of wondering how they will afford the supplies their children need for the upcoming school year. That’s where we can help.

Working closely with the school district, our partners, staff, and dedicated volunteers, we provide backpacks filled with essential school supplies to help students start the year prepared and confident. Our delivery teams even bring the backpacks directly to families’ homes.

School supply registration opens on July 6 and closes on August 14. You can register by calling 604-514-7375, in person at the Gateway of Hope, or through our online registration: https://gatewayofhope.ca

We encourage families to register as early as possible, as supplies are limited and availability cannot be guaranteed.

Together, we can help ensure every child has the tools they need for a successful school year.

We are so thankful to our Dinner Sponsor for joining us in make the Tournament of Hope a fun day on the green with a delicious dinner to follow.

Their support not only makes our tournament that much better but it means that our community can rely on our services.

We will be hosting a booth at Langley Community Day on June 13th from 11am-3pm in Douglas Park!

Look for the Gateway of Hope tent and say hello to our staff that will be available to provide some information about services. We cannot wait to see everyone there.

We are so thankful to our sponsors for helping us put together our 20th annual Tournament of Hope. PetroValue Products Canada Inc. is this years Platinum Sponsor and will be joining us on the green for a day of fun, with proceeds going towards supporting our community.

Please be aware that our Meal Centre will be closed for Community Lunch on Thursday, June 4th due to renovations. Bagged lunches will be available.

Thanks to this amazing group of students from Langley Fundamental Middle and Secondary School for putting together a fundraiser in support of The Salvation Army Gateway of Hope. They were making root beer/ orange fizz floats during lunch. We made sure to have some staff stop by, given them some encouragement, and grab a couple treats!

We are excited to be hosting our 20th annual Tournament of Hope taking place at Redwoods Golf Course on August 20th.

Not only is it a fun filled day on the green, the money raised goes into our Family Services Department. Last year with the funds raised, we were able to support our community with 500+ Christmas food Hampers and 800+ Backpacks with school supplies.

This is a call out to our community. We could use some more mugs, if you have any spares that you don't mind donating. Please bring them to our Gateway of Hope building at 5787 Langley Bypass anytime between 9am-3pm Mon-Fri. Mugs are used everyday in our Meal Centre and nothing can replace the feeling of tea or coffee in a warm mug!

We had our Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, and it was such a wonderful evening celebrating the incredible people who give their time, energy, and heart to our community. 💛
