In 2016, Dr Joel Fransen entered his second year as co‑captain of Better Outcomes 2 and declared his ride a tribute to David Bowie. He rode as Ziggy Stardust, a bright streak across the sky, a reminder that courage often begins with a single spark of defiance.

In 2017, Marc Schouten joined our ranks and with him arrived a Batman‑esque resolve. From that moment, our ride towards a cure for cancer did not merely continue; it accelerated with the righteous force of a nation that refuses to bow to despair.

Year by year, rider by rider, hope has gathered momentum. What began as a tribute has become a movement, and what began as a team has become a battalion of Canadians who will not yield until the villains of cancer and human suffering are driven back into the shadows.
