BUILD THEM HERE. BUILD BC.

British Columbia has the skilled tradespeople, shipbuilding expertise, and industrial capacity to build the ferries our province needs — and there is a strong economic case for doing it here.

A new report commissioned by the Build Them Here Coalition found that building four new ferries domestically would:

🔹 Contribute $1.5 billion in cumulative GDP to Canada, with 85% of that benefit staying in BC.
🔹 Generate more than 10,000 person-years of employment, the vast majority in British Columbia.
🔹 Generate approximately $413 million in additional revenue for federal and provincial governments.

These aren't just numbers. They represent thousands of opportunities for skilled workers, apprentices, contractors, suppliers, and communities across BC.

When we invest in building projects here, we invest in the people who live and work here.

Boilermakers Lodge 359 is a proud supporter and member of the Build Them Here Coalition. We believe BC's skilled workers should have the opportunity to build the infrastructure and vessels that our province needs — while keeping the economic benefits of that work right here at home.

We have the skills. We have the workers. We have the expertise.
