Lake Cowichan Food Bank AGM is scheduled for Tuesday April 22nd 6:00pm, it will be held at 62 Fern Road in the upstairs meeting room. This is the time of year that we go through changes in Directors and this year we are looking to bring on 4 new individuals to volunteer and that are willing to commit of their time to supporting and working on our fundraising events and programs, and attend monthly meetings. Please email us at [email protected] with your intention/interest to become a Volunteer Director.

Thank you Cowichan Lake and surrounding area Thanksgiving Food Drive was a great success for our 1st year here in Lake Cowichan with over 2000 lbs of food donated !! We are so excited with our results. If a bag was missed for pickbup or you would like to donate please call 250-510-3663 to arrange pick up. Or drop it in the food bank box at Country Grocer. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make Lake Cowichan Thanksgiving Food Drive success. Keep a look out for those bags on your door steps next year 😃

The BC Thanksgiving Food Drive is more than just a food collection event—it’s a chance for our community to come together and support local food banks across British Columbia, including the Lake Cowichan Food Bank Society. Since its humble beginnings in 2008, this initiative has grown into a province-wide effort, with volunteers from over 100 communities pitching in to make a difference. In 2024, we’re excited to be part of this incredible event!

Monetary donations are a powerful way to support the Food Bank. By pooling donations, we can purchase items in bulk through our strong partnerships with local stores—allowing us to stretch every dollar further. In fact, for every $1 donated, provide $3 worth of food to those in need! Join Us for the BC Thanksgiving Food Drive: A Community Effort to Fight Hunger!
You can donate through the Canada Helps.org - https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/lake-cowichan-food-bank-society/ or by scanning the qr code with your cell phone and make a donation using your credit card. You can also send us a cheque via mail to the Lake Cowichan Food Bank P.O. Box 824 Lake Cowichan, BC V0R2G0. Or donate cash on the 21st at our location at 62 Fern Road from 10am to 1pm

Let’s come together as a community and make this year’s BC Thanksgiving Food Drive the most successful one yet. Your contributions—whether food or financial—go a long way in supporting our neighbours and ensuring everyone has access to nutritious food during the holidays and beyond.

Keep a look out for a bag dropped off in your area! If one has not been dropped off, you can still donate. Bring a bag Saturday Sept 21st 10:00-1:00 62 Fern Road or at Country Grocer food drop by the door.
