On July 24-26, Lily, Hannah, and Alistair attended the British Columbia Ambassador Programs Speech Night and Gala. They cheered on Lara Court of Cowichan Lake and the other 4 candidates during their community presentations and personal speeches. The team stopped all over Victoria, visiting the Beacon Hill Petting Zoo, Pendray Inn for high tea, and easily escaping at Quest Reality Games. That evening, the Gala and Coronation took place. Lily, Hannah, and Alistair would like to congratulate Lauren Lafreniere of Castlegar, Lara Court of Cowichan Lake, and Madyson Bourassa of West Kelowna for becoming 2026/27 British Columbia Ambassadors! What a fantastic Canada Day!

Our first stop was at the Town of Lake Cowichan’s Canada Day celebration at Centennial Park, where we enjoyed face painting, handing out cupcakes, and sharing a few words with the community. A huge thank you to the Town of Lake Cowichan for hosting such a wonderful event and inviting us to be part of the celebration!

Next, we headed to Mesachie Lake, where we took photos, played games (while almost getting crushed by a giant game of Jenga!), handed out more cupcakes, tried out the fire simulator, and, of course, hung out with our favourite bonus ambassador- Shasta the puppy! Thank you to the CVRD for inviting us to join in the festivities and helping make the day so much fun.

We wrapped up an amazing Canada Day with some roller blading to finish the celebrations!

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us. We loved spending Canada Day with our incredible community!

What an incredible year for the Cowichan Lake Ambassador Program. 💙

To every candidate who stepped outside their comfort zone and put themselves out there- thank you. Your courage, dedication, and willingness to represent our community have been truly inspiring.

This year’s group was nothing short of exceptional. Each of you brought your own unique strengths, talents, and passion, and it was truly a privilege to watch you all grow.

Beyond your individual accomplishments, one of the most meaningful things to witness was the genuine friendships you built along the way. The support, encouragement, and kindness you showed one another reminded us that this program is about so much more than a title- it’s about leadership, connection, and community.

Congratulations to each and every one of you. You should be incredibly proud of everything you’ve achieved, and we can’t wait to see where your journeys take you next.

Thank you for making this year so memorable.

2026 Lake Days! What. A. Blast. The 2025 Royalty and 2026 Candidates woke up bright and early for the Pancake Breakfast at the Lake Cowichan Firehall, then rode in the parade with visiting Quesnel and Oliver Ambassadors! After the parade, they hid in the sun until the coronation arrived and we discovered who our 2026 Royalty would be! Finishing the day with the town barbecue and knocking some pins at “Rock ‘n Glow” bowling at Youbou Bowling Alley!
☀️ is our photographer and these amazing photos of the parade, coronation, and happy moments in between wouldn’t be possible without her!
