A huge thank you to Ken Guido, who donated $500 worth of Save-On-Foods gift cards to help wildfire evacuees.

Lake Country Health is grateful to pass these cards along to Mamas for Mamas, where they can get into the hands of families and individuals who need them most.

We also want to share a great way our community can continue supporting local food security through the Rotary / Save-On-Foods Shopping Card Program.

The Rotary Club of Lake Country has partnered with Save-On-Foods to create a simple way to support the Lake CountryLake Country Food Bank.

When you purchase a Rotary/Save-On-Foods shopping card, 8% of the card's value is donated to the food bank by Save-On-Foods —at no additional cost to you. And that 8% contribution is being matched by a private donor.

You can purchase the cards Beem Credit Union in Lake Country or UBR Services in District of Lake Country.

Thank you, Ken, for your generous donation—and thank you to everyone who continues to support those affected by the wildfires.

We have free N95 masks available for our District of Lake Country community.

With wildfire smoke still affecting air quality, an N95 mask can greatly reduce exposure. It can filter out tiny particles in the smoke, including PM2.5—very small particles that can travel deep into the lungs. For best protection, the N95 should fit snugly around the nose and mouth with minimal gaps.

Pick up masks between 9 am - 4 pm at:

We have small, medium, and large sizes available.

We’ll provide 5 masks per person, and you’re welcome to pick up additional masks for family or friends.

You can pick them up at our office between 9 am - 4 pm, 10080 Main Street (located in the white building, second door next to the Lake Country Interior Health unit).

N95 respiratory masks are now being provided free of charge in communities within the Interior Health region.

We have more gratitude to share💙

Following the wildfire evacuation of a long-term care home in Summerland, 75 residents and staff were relocated to Interior Health and Kaigo's Mission Creek Landing in Kelowna with little time to pack basic necessities.

To help meet some of the immediate needs, we bought: 150 pairs of new underwear, 300 disposable razors, and 70 coat hangers. These essential personal items will provide comfort, dignity and a little bit of normalcy during a very difficult time.

We were only able to purchase these supplies because of the generosity of our District of Lake Country community, including donations from Mona Vision Optical, Lake Country Alliance Church, and individual community members.

Thank you to our community partners for stepping up when it matters. We wish the residents and staff a timely return to their home in Summerland when it's safe to do so.

Thank you, Lake Country!

Today, Alicia from the Okanagan Indian Band was able to fill her car with donations from our District of Lake Country community — including snacks, diapers, children’s toys and activities, pet food, and toiletries — to bring directly to OKIB families who have been displaced.

Every donation represents a neighbour helping a neighbour during an incredibly difficult time.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared our collection, or helped spread the word. Your generosity is reaching families who need it most!

Donate a Phone – Help Our Seniors Stay Connected 📱

Do you have a gently used, newer smartphone that you no longer need? Consider donating it to help a senior in our community stay connected.

Your donated phone can help seniors:

Stay connected with family and friends
Access important information and essential services
Feel less isolated and more connected to their community

We are looking for smartphones that are in good working condition and are not very old. Chargers and accessories are also appreciated.

As a registered charity, Lake Country Health can provide a Fair Market Value Tax Receipt for eligible phone donations.

Your unused phone could make a meaningful difference in the life of a senior. ❤️

Families across our region have been displaced by wildfires, often leaving with little more than what they can carry. This week, we're collecting urgently needed donations for families affected by wildfires.

We’ll be collecting donations Monday to Friday, 9 AM–3 PM at:

All donations collected will be delivered to Mamas for Mamas to support families who have been displaced.

We’re especially looking for diapers, Pull-Ups, baby wipes, formula and baby food, feminine hygiene products, incontinence products, new underwear and socks, gently used clothing, sleeping bags, towels, toiletries, pet supplies, laundry strips, dish soap, cleaning supplies, first aid supplies, bottled water, ready-to-eat snacks, canned food with pull tabs, juice boxes, children's activities, small gift cards and air purifiers.

Every donation helps. If you're able to contribute, we would be grateful for your support.

Our thoughts are with all the communities that have needed to evacuate due to wildfires. Many families have had to evacuate with a moment's notice. Some have lost their homes. This is a traumatic time for people directly and indirectly affected.

Helping is one of the best ways we can respond. Our District of Lake Country community stands together with these communities.

Whether you walk on your own, with your family, a group of friends, your work, church, book club, or neighbourhood, every step helps raise funds to support elders in our community to stay independent, healthy, and connected.

Starting or joining a team is easy, and a fun way to make a difference while enjoying a great morning together.
