The Decluttering Sessions PART 4 — THE STORM “Find The Rainbow”. Sometimes we don’t get to choose whether the storm comes. We just have to decide how we’re going to walk through it. There are moments when we feel like the rain won’t stop. If we’re not careful, we can become so focused on the storm that we forget something very important: Storms don’t last forever. Don’t let the storm convince us there is no sky beyond the clouds. Keep looking. There is a rainbow we can’t see yet.

The Decluttering Sessions PART 3 — UNFORGIVENESS “Put It Down.” “Some Sleeping Dogs Need To Die.” One of the hardest things to declutter. Unforgiveness. Forgiveness doesn’t mean what happened was okay. It doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be consequences. It doesn’t mean we have to trust somebody again. And it certainly doesn’t mean we have to put ourselves back into an unhealthy situation. Forgiveness means we refuse to spend the rest of our lives carrying the weight of what was done to us.

The funny thing about cleaning out an inbox is that eventually we start thinking about another kind of inbox. The one inside of us. We might be carrying things we were never designed to carry this long. Old disappointments. Old conversations. Old wounds. Old opinions. Old versions of ourselves. Sometimes the reason we can’t move forward isn’t that there’s something wrong with the road ahead. There’s just too much clutter coming with us.
