Overview

Must live in Lac La Biche or the surounding area - camp is NOT included.
We are seeking vigilant and responsible Security Guards to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. This role is vital in maintaining a secure environment through proactive monitoring and enforcement of safety protocols. Ideal candidates will have a strong sense of integrity, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents. Surveillance, or loss prevention is a plus. These positions offers full-time and part- time employment with comprehensive training to support your success in the role.

Duties

Monitor and patrol designated areas to prevent unauthorized access, theft, or vandalism
Conduct regular surveillance using CCTV systems to identify suspicious activity
Respond promptly to security breaches or emergencies, including alarms and alarms systems
Enforce company policies and safety regulations with professionalism and discretion
Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and observations
Assist visitors and staff by providing directions or information as needed
Conduct loss prevention activities by observing customer behavior and intervening when necessary
Perform security checks on equipment, entrances, exits, and other critical points
Skills

Only Apply If you have an Alberta Security Licence

Experience with surveillance systems such as CCTV for monitoring premises effectively
Ability to perform loss prevention duties with keen attention to detail
Excellent observational skills to identify potential threats or suspicious behavior
Good communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and professionally
Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond swiftly during emergencies
Physical fitness to patrol large areas and stand for extended periods

Summary of Swamper Responsibilities: The principal duty of a Swamper is to supply labor as directed by your supervisor. Working Safely and efficiently is the top priority on every job.

Our Swampers form part of a team of transportation specialists:

Assist with training less experienced Swampers as directed by your supervisor.
Promote teamwork in the branch and on the job site.
Recognize the accomplishments of fellow workers.
Lead by example.
Taking care of the trucks, trailers and associated equipment is an important role of the Swamper.

The assigned equipment must be clean and organized at all times.
Report equipment safety deficiencies immediately.
Ensure the truck’s equipment is properly maintained at all times.
Use rigging for its intended purpose only.
Supervise all hook-ups and unhooks of trailer combinations.
When working with the truck, do so in a professional courteous manner. Be a good company ambassador on the job and in public.
Compliance: Company, Government, and Customer policies and regulations must be followed and are the responsibility of the Swamper.

Follow hours of work regulations and maintain drivers log according to government hours of work regulations.
Comply with the company substance abuse policy.
Study and understand government safety and transport regulations.
Learn how to build loads to comply with customer site-specific requirements.
Ensure that you possess current appropriate training certificates to operate units and work in accordance with government and customer regulations.
Learn how to perform and document pre and post trip inspections.
Safety and Environmental: The Swamper must follow safe operating practices and company safety and environmental policies. The objective of each Swamper is to have no accidents, injuries or environmental contamination.

Follow the companies safety programs.
Wear personal protective equipment as required by company policy.
Follow safe operating procedures on the job site.
Attend all pre job safety meetings.
Ensure that you have current required safety training to perform your assigned job.
Ensure that you follow company environmental policies.
Report incidents, accidents and near misses immediately upon occurrence.
Attend regular Branch and site-specific safety meetings.
Inspect all rigging prior to use.
Return all equipment to its designed storage place.
Remove all debris and deck pins from empty decks.
Know how to identify and position equipment.
Use Company approved procedures when rigging all equipment for movement.
Provide accurate verbal directions and hand signals. These are to be clearly communicated to the Driver during all movement of equipment according to approved company procedures.

Prairie North Const. Ltd. is seeking a Field Health and Safety Advisor to support an active construction project located just north of Fort McMurray, Alberta.

The Field Safety Advisor will promote a strong health and safety culture at the worksite through the development and continual improvement of health, safety and environmental programs. You will collaborate and coach supervisors and employees to find the safest approach to worksite activities. You will work with employees, other business units and our clients to monitor, maintain and report on internal safety related processes and documentation. The Safety Advisor will promote a positive safety attitude and safe work practices at the worksite.

This position will report directly to the Corporate Safety Manager, and is to coordinate day-to-day activities with the onsite Project Superintendent or Project Supervisor.

Perform incident investigations and assist in the completion of forms & corrective actions
Complete employee onboarding tasks.
Attend and participate in HSE meetings.

Participate and support the annual COR audit process.
Assist in the management of WCB claims, modified duties and return to work programs.
Monitor, track and record daily paperwork submittals.

Education and Experience:

Must have experience in highway construction (minimum two years)
National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation, OHS Certificate or OHS Diploma is considered an asset.
Ground Disturbance Level II
Current Intermediate First Aid
Leadership for Safety Excellence (LSE)
Experience conducting incident investigations
Pre-Employment Conditions:

Class 5 Drivers, with a clear abstract history for travel between office and worksites. A company vehicle is available for use.
Ability to pass a pre-employment / pre-access alcohol & drug testing. This includes legal, illegal drugs and medications.
Working Conditions:

This is primarily a field-based position, with 80% field and 20% administrative.
Travel to various active work sites around Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan
Work sites are all outdoors, exposure to weather and noise possible
Must be able to navigate over uneven surfaces, climb stairs and other obstacles in active work site
Work “on call” as required to respond to incidents
Proper PPE required
