On Wednesday, August 19th, our French class had the wonderful opportunity to go on an outing to a Vietnamese restaurant at 14 Prince-Arthur Ouest in Montréal.

We are incredibly proud of our members! They stepped outside the classroom, put their French into practice, spoke with confidence, discussed the menu, ordered their meals in French, and enjoyed conversations with others. Seeing our members use what they have learned in a real-life setting was such a special moment. 🇫🇷👏

A very special and heartfelt thank you to Carrefour Marguerite-Bourgeoys Carrefour Marguerite-Bourgeoys and their 8 participants who came all the way to join us and support our members. They took the time to sit with our members, practice French with them, help them with conversations and ordering, and most importantly, create new friendships and social connections.

Your kindness, patience, and willingness to spend the day with our members truly made this outing special. We are so grateful that you came to be part of this experience with us. ❤️

A huge thank you as well to Catholic Action Montreal for generously providing their mini-bus, picking us up at 15 Highlands, bringing everyone safely to the restaurant, and bringing us back to the centre. 🚌❤️

And of course, we want to express our deepest gratitude to the Grace Dart Foundation. Fondation Grace Dart / Grace Dart Foundation Your generous funding is what makes our French program and experiences like this possible. Without your support, we would not be able to provide these opportunities for our members. Thank you for believing in our members and investing in their learning, confidence, and connections. ❤️

This outing was about so much more than French.

Yesterday, Tuesday, August 11, 2026 we had the pleasure of gathering for our **Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Urgel Bourgie Athos Complexe Funéraire – LaSalle**.

It was a wonderful opportunity to come together, reflect on the past year, celebrate everything we have accomplished as a community, and look ahead to another year of growth, connection, and meaningful work. 💙

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Councillor Daniella Romano , Borough Councillor, for generously allowing us to use the hall at Urgel Bourgie for our AGM. We truly appreciate your support and for helping us create a welcoming space for our community to gather.

A special thank you as well to Terrell Joseph from Catholic Action Montreal for joining us and showing your continued support for our Centre. We were very happy to have you with us!

We would also like to thank Souleymane Gueye, Community Development Agent with the City of Montreal, LaSalle Borough , for taking the time to join us and be part of this important occasion. Your presence and support are greatly appreciated.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us and took the time to be part of our AGM. Your presence, support, and continued involvement mean so much to us.

A very special thank you to everyone who generously brought baked goods and treats to share. Your kindness added such a warm and welcoming touch to our gathering. 🧁❤️

We would also like to recognize and thank all of our Board Members for their dedication, leadership, hard work, and commitment throughout the year. Your time and efforts continue to help guide and strengthen our Centre.

A special thank you to Alex and Joy, and our entire staff team, for all the work that goes on behind the scenes every day. From planning programs and activities to organizing events, supporting our members, and making sure everything comes together, your dedication does not go unnoticed.

And, of course, we cannot say thank you enough to all of our incredible volunteers. You give your time, your energy, your skills, and most importantly, your heart. ❤️ Your contributions are such an important part of what makes our Centre a welcoming and vibrant community.

Yesterday was not only about an AGM — it was a reminder of what can happen when people come together with a shared commitment to their community.

Thank you to every person who continues to give their time, support, kindness, and heart to our Centre. We are truly grateful for each and every one of you.

.Bringing Communities Together Through French!

On Wednesday, August 5th, our French Class had the wonderful opportunity to visit Centre du Vieux Moulin de LaSalle for a special afternoon of conversation, connection, and community.

This visit was a beautiful way for our members to put the French skills they have been developing into practice. It was wonderful to see them step outside their comfort zones, introduce themselves, have conversations, ask questions, laugh, make mistakes, and most importantly, enjoy communicating in French!

A very special thank you to Centre du Vieux Moulin de LaSalle for welcoming us so warmly and for partnering with us to make this experience possible. We are incredibly grateful to all of the volunteers and members who took the time to sit with our participants, practice French with them, patiently help when they needed a little support, and encourage each person throughout the afternoon. Your kindness and generosity made such a difference.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Catholic Action Catholic Action Montreal for providing transportation and safely bringing our members to and from Centre du Vieux Moulin, helping make this wonderful outing possible. 🚌💙

It was truly a joy to watch our two communities come together. This experience reminded us that **language does not have to separate us — language can bring us together.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Grace Dart Fondation Grace Dart / Grace Dart Foundation for supporting our French Class program for a second year. Your generous support has given our members another year of learning, practicing, building confidence, and creating meaningful connections through language. We are so grateful for your continued belief in our members and in the importance of lifelong learning.

From the classroom to the community, our members continue to show us that it is never too late to learn something new. 🌿

This is a friendly reminder that Fall Fitness Registration is taking place on the following dates:

Registration Dates:

Time: 9:45 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Location: Outside Registration Area at 15 Ave Highlands, LaSalle, QC H8R 3N2

Alex and I (Joy) will be there to help with registration.
