Kitimat Minor Hockey Association is proud to congratulate Noah Goffinet-Forward on being selected as a recipient of the BC Hockey District Scholarship.

This prestigious award recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate excellence both on and off the ice through their commitment to hockey, academics, leadership, and community involvement.

Kitimat Minor Hockey Association is proud to recognize our 2026 scholarship recipients, Colby Vilness and Logan Calkins.

Both Colby and Logan have demonstrated dedication, sportsmanship, leadership, and a commitment to their teammates and community throughout their minor hockey careers. 🎓 REMINDER-Applications due TOMORROW APRIL 16 -KMHA Scholarship ​🎓

Kitimat Minor Hockey Association is proud to now offer our own KMHA Scholarships to recognize graduating players who have demonstrated dedication to hockey, leadership, sportsmanship, academic commitment, and involvement in our community.

Please note that KMHA will no longer be offering this scholarship through the Scholarship Association. Moving forward, the scholarship will be administered directly by KMHA and presented at our Year-End Banquet.

Please accept our apologies for the short notice. As the Year-End Banquet will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, applications must be received by Thursday, April 16, 2026, so the scholarship can be reviewed and awarded at the banquet.

Call for Nominations – Kitimat Minor Hockey Association Executive
Kitimat Minor hockey is currently seeking a committed individual to join the executive board position for the role of Treasurer for the 2026/27 season.

Other positions will be open for nomination and voted on at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM), however will have standing members who intend to reapply, but will still be open and voted on at the AGM in accordance with our governance process.

Those positions are as follows:
• Vice President
• 1st Director
• Head Coach
• Registrar
• Referee in Chief
• Ice Scheduler
• Referee Coordinator
• Equipment Manager

With a projected AGM date in May we would like to emphasize that the positions coming up for election reflect the standard process that occurs every year and helps keep the organization healthy, transparent, and well-governed.

Celebrating our Kitimat Minor Hockey Association Graduating Class of 2026! Our final graduate is Ryan Amado!

A smooth skating and hard-hitting defensemen, Ryan made life difficult for players entering his crease or crossing his blueline. He joined KMHA in 2013 as a U7 player, and he finished by being an assistant captain and helping to lead the U18 Rep Winterhawks to a 2nd Place Finish at the Provincial Championships to conclude his time as a Kitimat Winterhawk!

Thank you for all of the memories, and for wearing the Winterhawks logo with pride! Congratulations, Ryan! 👏 👏
