Visit one of our locations where you can access resources and information to help you build your job search skills. No cost access to:

Career Exploration
Meet with an Employment Specialist to develop job search skills and receive ongoing support to ensure a successful job search. Discuss and explore what careers are suitable for you. Develop an effective cover letter and resume. Participate in mock interviews and workshops. Job Matching and Placement

Ready to work? Let our staff work with you to create placement, matching or employment opportunities. Incentives may be available to employers and job seekers. Job developers make connections with employers with the goal of matching you with a suitable employer. Potential matches can include job trials, job shadowing and employment.

Are you 16 or older and working, looking for work or preparing to enter the workforce in Waterloo Wellington Dufferin?

We want to hear about your experiences, needs and challenges. Your feedback will help inform local workforce planning and support the development of programs and services that better respond to our communities.

Should your resume be one page?

The answer is... it depends!

For most job seekers, a one-page resume is the sweet spot. It encourages you to focus on your most relevant skills, experience, and accomplishments—making it easier for employers to quickly see why you're a great fit.

A few tips:
✅ Tailor your resume for each job.
✅ Highlight accomplishments, not just responsibilities.
✅ Keep it clear, concise, and easy to scan.

Remember: Employers often spend only seconds reviewing a resume before deciding whether to keep reading.
